disjaukifa #1 Posted November 3, 2009 Hey Guys, After not being too happy looking for a good site to review Jaguar games, that and I don't agree with some of the reviews, I decided to have some fun and make a website of my own to review all the Jaguar games I have. Its a MAJOR work in progress, but its better than nothing. Here is the link: Disjaukifa's Jaguar Reviews I'm working my way through my first review now, Breakout 2000, which is basically done and will be adding more soon. Let me know what you think and if you find a error about any of the information please let me know so I can correct it. Thanks Disjaukifa

+save2600 #3 Posted November 3, 2009 Looks clean and simple (a nice change from the mess you typically see now-a-days) and I look forward to hearing new input, but I can't stare at the grey background and white text for very long. Is it just me or do others have a problem with that scheme?

Is it just me or do others have a problem with that scheme? I was thinking about making the text more of a grey on black, I agree that the white text is not easy on the eyes. There are other themes I can choose from, I will play around with them to see their are any other themes I like. -Disjaukifa

disjaukifa #7 Posted November 3, 2009 Oh yeah, much easier on the eyes. Looks great now, thanks! Yeah I thought the same. I like grey on black, its easy on my eyes, but pure white on black is over kill. I am in the process of giving Beebris a review, and then I will do Space War 2000, followed by I think Rayman, then I think I will do Towers II. I need to find a good list of available homebrews that can be legally downloaded from the author such as Beebris, I think there are a couple more but I don't know what or where to find them . . . I need to do some googling!!! -Disjaukifa

This has got to be the most sparse RPG I've ever played. Be careful... one can literally fall asleep whilst playing! lol

I just snagged a copy of it CIB Friday and it should get here hopefully today but more than likely it will be tomorrow or Thursday. I'm a huge RPG fan and excited to get it, it sounds like it has some interesting features as well. One of the reasons for the website was to give Tower II an actual review on the Jaguar. I found one Towers II for the Jaguar but it was based of the Gameboy Version . . . . I don't see how you can rate the Jaguar version of Towers II from playing the Gameboy version . . . -Disjaukifa
Atari_Owl #10 Posted November 3, 2009 Towers II is interesting technically - however even looking at it from that point of view its quite primitive. There used to be Jag Reviews from AEO and places like that online - i think the site that collated them has long gone however. It is my hope though, that people would find an action/adventure with RPG elements to be interesting also though.
BuddyBuddies #11 Posted November 3, 2009 Anybody ever beat Towers II for the Jaguar??

I know I would personally, are you working on . . hahah the Atari Owl Project that is an action/adventure/RPG???? I haven't done much reading into it yet, just now really being to look into the homebrew scene. -Disjaukifa

disjaukifa #15 Posted November 3, 2009 When you don't agree with others, the best thing is to do your own thing Good luck with your new website ! Thanks!!! I do have some tweaks that I have planned and I more reviews that I want to put up. Eventually I hoping this can become a big resource website for the Jaguar, not looking to replace any forums, such as AA or JSII, but this would just be a good resource to Jaguar Fans. -Disjaukifa
S1500 #16 Posted November 3, 2009 There's also a handful of Jag reviews on http://www.videogamecritic.net/. Just click Jaguar on the left.

S1500 #18 Posted November 3, 2009 There's probably a section on Mobygames too, but there aren't many reviews on it. Moreso just a reference.
disjaukifa #19 Posted November 4, 2009 Hey Guys, I have reviews for Breakout 2000 up (need to review Breakout Classic Mode) and a Homebrew game called Diam Jag under homebrew section. I have to admit that Diam Jag surprised me, its a great game but has some minor bugs that I wish had been addressed. Thanks Disjaukifa
+save2600 #20 Posted November 4, 2009 Diam Jag... never heard of that one!! lol Plays and looks a lot like A*Star for the 2600 (another recent homebrew). The music playing in your video review (thanks for taking the time to create that btw), is that from the game? It totally rocks in a semi-retro, funky kind of way :-)

All the video that I post will only have the sound effects from the games itself, I won't add my own sound tracks or anything to it. I was really quite surprised by the game, it has some glitches but overall is a great game, I throughly enjoyed it. -Disjaukifa Edited November 4, 2009 by disjaukifa

segasaturn #23 Posted November 4, 2009 I like it alot, but I noticed that you mostly had "homebrew" games in the review section. The only one not a homebrew is breakout 2000, so some advice, try to include more "original" games

The only one not a homebrew is breakout 2000, so some advice, try to include more "original" games Yeah I'm going too, its just that the homebrew games are generally shorter and easier to review plus I just got around to using the skunkboard that I got so I was having some fun with it last night . Also I find hombrew games are ignored when it comes to review sites and I want to make sure that is not something I do. Soon I will post reviews for the following games: Wolfenstein 3D Doom Rayman Towers II Iron Soldier Iron Soldier II Cartridge Dino Dudes Cybermorph NBA Jam T.E. Soccerkid And a couple other than have just escaped me at the moment . . . Thanks for the feedback!!! -Disjaukifa Edited November 4, 2009 by disjaukifa
