Rev. Rob #1 Posted November 16, 2009 I was in a bar recently, and I am wearing my Atari work shirt. Kind of like a blue Dickies button down with an Atari logo patch over the left breast. A guy comes up to me and starts touching my patch. Then he calls his friends over to look at me. It was very weird. Today I went into a gas station wearing an Atari Asteroid's t-shirt, and the old man behind the counter wanted to tell me how much greater life was when he was a kid, and "what ever happened to Atari, I don't understand Xbox, kids these days..." I just wanted to pay for my gas.
AtariLeaf #2 Posted November 16, 2009 (edited) Saw a young couple in the grocery store the other day. The girl had a Genesis T-shirt and the guy had a SMB 3 shirt. I liked them both ( the shirts ) but I did notice a few people staring and giggling at them. Of course it might not have been the shirts but the goth/emo look about them. jeremysart #3 Posted November 16, 2009 I have two Atari shirts, the one is new, and the other I wear pretty often. I never really hear anything about it, except when I go into game store I either get "thats cool!" or "Did you check out our game shirts?" Try having a mohawk and 30 piercings. Haha, I got stopped a lot when I was 17.

+save2600 #6 Posted November 16, 2009 ....walked into our local mall and tried to purchase the new Galaga UR ornament without incident before the gal behind the counter asked why I was buying said item. Asked if I was a "big fan" of the coin-op. For the first time in my life, was speechless... and just said 'yes' and tried to focus on the Star Trek communicator they also had in ornate. Can hardly go out anymore without some Kukla, Fran and Ollie trying to engage me in some two dimensional yarn. I swear to God... can one not just be normal anymore? Wrong time, right place I suppose. At an age where I've been there and done that... almost no energy left to try to foster a nubile's curiosity. I had a bear down past my chest a couple years ago an yes, "How long did it take to grow that" was a common question. tetrode kink #13 Posted November 17, 2009 ...She probably listens to shit anyway and voted ignorantly for some undefined "change" :-( She may or may not have been "ignorant" but the "change" was anything but undefined, had you taken the least bit of initiative and actually checked it out. But no, you probably voted for Mr. "Straight Talk" and the Queen of Wasilla. Funny how the "Straight Talk" dried up when he became the candidate of his party. And the Frank Burns of female Vice-Presidential candidates just can't stop herself from bleating moronic, to this day. It's getting so bad even Mr. Straight Talk's campaign staff are throwing her under the bus. And to think she was one step away from the second-highest office of the land. Yah, you betcha. Well if I liked the shirt and someone made that comment I would either ignore or say "Yeah so?" I mean only someone who doesn't "get it" would make such a comment so who cares what they think? Or the Sega console? Were they trying to be "ironic" ? They're my favorite band but even I won't talk to anyone wearing the shirt And no one's ever said anything but "hey cool shirt!" when I was wearing my Atari, Pac-man, Space Inavders or Galaga shirt. Some people are kinda clueless though like Galaga they say "Oh Galaxian, cool" but I generally don't "fan boy" them with stern lectuers about video game history. It's usually at a bar in passing, not worth the hassle or being an a-hole about.
moycon #23 Posted November 18, 2009 I have a Donkey Kong shirt that never fails to get one or two "I love that shirt"... I'll bet I have the same shirt. Basically a black shirt with the first play field of D.K. I got it at Khol's about a year ago and every time I wear it someone says something about it. "I loved that game" usually. I recently wore it to Krogers and I got hit up twice about it!!
Shawn #24 Posted November 18, 2009 Most folks skip my Atari shirt and ask about all my tattoos. Well good for you. I would still pick an Atari T-Shirt over a tattoo any day of the week. Well thats the difference between me and you. I sport the Atari shirt and the tats. The post was in humor dude. You didn't catch that obviously. To make it clear for you what I ment is that most people are more taken by a body covered in tattoo's than they are the Atari shirt one is wearing. hahaha? Get it now? No? Oh well, I tried to help. pinball22 #25 Posted November 18, 2009 Yeah, people fairly often say things like "Hey, I used to love Atari!" when I wear my shirt that just has the fuji and says Atari. Other gaming shirts I have (one with a 2600 joystick that says "Roots", one that has Donkey Kong on it, one that has a screen from Atari Football and says "Know your enemies", a couple of Mario ones, and one that has 8-bit food and says "Wizard is about to die. Needs food badly.") don't get as many comments. (Didn't realize just how many game-related shirts I have until I wrote that.)
