So I bought an Atari shirt from Wallmart for $5. It wasnt the best shirt, it was bright green and said "represent" at the bottom which I thought was pretty stupid, so my wife cut the shirt up and made me this new one!

I am still on the quest for one of these at my Walmart. We have 3 in the store last I checked, but no location for them. the slot for them is, naturally, plugged with other crap.

Needless to say, I am ticked off. If I was stupider, I would think this was a ploy from an ex of mine, who works softlines overnight. Thing is, I picked up Atari as a hobby only months ago, and this was nearly a year ago she and I had our little fling, so yeah.. >_> no conspiracy theory here.

Nice that more people are getting these, but ironic that I work at a Walmart and can't find one to save my life!

We already have a discussion on how crappy those shirts are. First off, the button and logo are wrong. It looks like they were using a combination of the Jakks Pacific unit, but modified.

I like what you've done to your shirt, though. I almost bought one, but after getting to the counter I told the lady I don't want it because it's not accurate.

If you want one I'd be glad to pick you one up. Every Walmart around here has them. They're usually $7 or $7.50 (sometimes more), so with shipping you'd be at $10 or $12.

You can get them online in black from ThinkGeek: http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts-apparel/unisex/gaming/c4f8/ but even there the picture is wrong..

"Either they have the button on the wrong side or Atari's logo is sideways. You go with whatever makes you feel better. We still love the retro vibe this gives off, plus we get to nitpick and show off our true geek cred when we wear this shirt. It's really win-win."

So cool your wife has some skills. Sorry you had to endure a Wal-Mart experience though ;-)

Oh god, if I was able to take pictures of the things I have seen...

I would love to tell you some of the stories I have. Maybe I should start up a general chat thread about that. :D

All fairness, I do love my job.

Keep in mind to that this is a walmart.. in the south. Top store in the region. :D

Yeah. I really do see alot, nothing as extreme as what I just saw all over that site, but man, quite a bit.

Also, this thread is officially no longer Atari 2600 related, so maybe we let it die, or get back on topic?

I do think the mod to the shirt is nice, but it does kill me how the shirts are backwards. I want to say maybe someone accidentally mirrored the image, but that would put the Fujion the wrong side (for a FB2 controller), so.. heck if I have a real idea on why they are the way they are.
