Austin #4 Posted November 24, 2009 (edited) This is pretty cool, albeit I hope they add a lot more games.. There's a very small selection. Midway did this about eight years ago with their web site. (I think those games are still up, too--Robotron, Defender, Spy Hunter, etc etc). **Of course, after writing this, I decided to go check the Midway.com web site.. And guess what?? Those fuckers are CHARGING MONEY now to play their games online.. WTF?? Sure, it's nice they have newer games like Primal Rage on there, but the old shit? They were 100% free even as short as a year or two ago. And the newer stuff? Those can be found on Midway Arcade Treasures II for about five bucks used.. Yet they want to charge $5 for three games on their web site. Big rip-off.. Massive props to the new Atari web site for making their handful of classics 100% free.. VectorGamer #5 Posted November 24, 2009 I'm not a fan of these online games - I'm just not "feelin' it." The positive is that it may influence someone to get into these classic games "for real" and buy a console and carts.
TwinChargers #6 Posted November 24, 2009 Very nice site. I just hope more games are added over time. Agreed, and I hope they actually save the high scores. I got 3rd on a variation of Yars Revenge, but it didn't show it unless I did a name search. Maybe theres a period of time before the score shows up to make sure theres no cuss words entered, but I feel as if I got hosed (even though the score wasn't spectacular or anything). TwinChargers #7 Posted November 25, 2009 Now I cannot get the site to load. Fortunately, before the site stopped working I saw my high scores were saved. The site froze while I was playing Lunar Lander. Anybody else having this problem or is it just me?
