WTB: Sega CD 2 power adapter (Found)

Recommended Posts

As the title states, I am looking for a power adapter that will work with the Sega CD 2. I read somewhere about the original Sega Genesis power adapter working on the Sega CD 2, but I don't know if that is true or not. I am looking for a decently priced adapter, so if you have a spare one for sale, let me know!

Yes, the Model 1 Genesis power brick will definitely work on a Sega CD, both models. Mike, you may want to do what I have done and use a laptop power supply, add two of the same DC tips to it. Works like a charm, it's a switching one and powers both with ease.

The original "wall wart" work until they stop, then they get to be a pain to replace. I'll keep an eye out for one, though, and if I have a spare laptop power supply somewhere I'll do you a custom one. Have to check. Free bump:)

If you have a regular classic Geneses and a Model 2 Sega CD you only need one Power cord if you can solder a couple wires

I did this and I must say it works great and Im not hogging my power brick

Thank you for the information! I'll give this a try. :D
