MegaManFan #2 Posted October 24, 2002 Mine came with a package of sticky tack. I attached a Spider-Man label back to it's Parker Bros. cartridge this way and it worked like a charm

SS #4 Posted October 25, 2002 I've been using rubber cement. Will I come to regret it down the road?
MegaManFan #5 Posted October 25, 2002 I've been using rubber cement. Will I come to regret it down the road? I'd say yes. Past experience with rubber cement has shown me that although it may appear "clean" when you attach it, the glue seeps through paper material later on. I found this out in college when I was glueing homemade labels to the jewel cases of promo CD's; when you looked at them in the light later on you could already see a form of "actiplaque" at work. That's why after the discussion we had on RGVC about this subject, plus my own personal experience since then, I only use the glue stick to reaffix labels. That's why after the discussion we had on RGVC about this subject, plus my own personal experience since then, I only use the glue stick to reaffix labels. Does anyone know what type of glue was used to attach those Activision labels and why they plaqued so badly? I've always wondered, but never did any research... Albert #7 Posted October 25, 2002 I've used 3M Super 77 glue to attach many labels and it works quite well. I suggest cleaning the cart surface with something like Goo Gone first, so the label will stick better. Then you flip the label over, spray the glue on the back side, let it sit for several seconds, and then apply it to the cart. Works great, but can be messy. I've also used glue sticks, but I don't think those bond quite as well as the Super 77. ..Al
joeybastard #8 Posted October 25, 2002 Just a quick addendum to Albert's post. If you use 3M spray glue, do it in a well ventilated area. We used to use it in an art class and some people had nasty asthma like reactions to it.
Krytol #9 Posted October 25, 2002 I've been using something called Lineco pH Neutral Glue. Works well, and supposed to be archivally sound. It's made for book binding.
Ze_ro #10 Posted October 26, 2002 Glue sticks work great. I've been using them (various brands) for quite a while on end labels without any problems. If you're really concerned, you can go searching for specific types of glue, but if you've got a glue stick around, give it a shot. --Zero

Mot #12 Posted October 27, 2002 My kid has glue stick but this seems like it would never hold. Is there better kinds or are they all about the same?
