Heaven/TQA #1 Posted November 29, 2009 Does anybody know if I am plugin in my Turbo Freezer XE 2007 version into my VBXE 65XE... do they conflic? or even damage each other?
Rybags #2 Posted November 29, 2009 Does Freezer replace main RAM or only replicate writes to it's own RAM? My understanding is that VBXE acts as a subordinate to any other memory access aside from normal non-expanded system RAM, fairly sure that also includes $4000-7FFF 130XE banking if active. Mathy #4 Posted November 29, 2009 Hello guys Is the TurboFreezer uses $D6xx you'll have to "move" your VBXE to $D7xx. Otherwise it won't work. greetings Mathy
Heaven/TQA #5 Posted November 29, 2009 Turbo Freezer XE works with VBXE but when running Candles Intro I can not enter the monitor of the freezer and one palette entry is wrong in the Atari Logo.
Mathy #6 Posted November 29, 2009 Hello Heaven Maybe your best bet would be to contact Hias. Hias does look into here at times, but you can be found more often at the ABBUC forum. greetings Mathy
HiassofT #7 Posted November 29, 2009 Hi Heaven! Turbo Freezer XE works with VBXE but when running Candles Intro I can not enter the monitor of the freezer and one palette entry is wrong in the Atari Logo. I don't have a VBXE so I can't test myself, but here are some hints: Does the intro maybe turn off interrupts? If yes, add the system-reset (NMI) mod to your Atari, press and hold the Freezer button and then press the system reset button. Concerning the Atari Logo: does the wrong palette entry show up even before you activate the Freezer? If yes, this would mean there's some sort of a hardware problem. Unless you activate the Freezer it's completely "invisible" to the Atari. If you set the "flash write jumper", the Freezer responds to acesses to $D5xx (to turn on/off and configure cartridge emulation, i.e. it may map RAM or ROM to $A000-$BFFF or $8000-$BFFF). Be sure this jumper is not set when testing. If you activate the Freezer by pressing the button it uses $D7xx for bankswitching and some other stuff. After you leave the Freezer menu it becomes "invisible" again. so long, Hias
candle #8 Posted November 29, 2009 Haeven NMI disabled, IRQ disabled, how would the Freezer work? and that diagonal bar is my fault
