Waterborn #1 Posted November 30, 2009 I belong to the New England Arcade Collectors Forum and we go out on fairly regular warehouse "raids". This past weekend, we invaded a barn in New Hampshire that belongs to a member and were able to score some good deals. You can check out some pics of the action on my blog. +save2600 #2 Posted November 30, 2009 (edited) Nice haul! You know how that glass marquee of Star Wars kinda looks nasty unlit? Well, I made a box for mine and lit it from the back. Can't see the matte/cloudy finish of the vinyl either that way. That particular marquee is way too cool NOT to do something with it Edited November 30, 2009 by save2600
[d2f]Iggy*SJB #3 Posted December 1, 2009 That gives me an idea..... I have the glass marquee from an old pinball/video game shooter called "Rapid Fire".... I actually searched all over KLOV to find that name, I couldn't remember it. I originally had the entire upper portion of the cabinet, but it was heavily damaged in the fire that killed my favorite spot. :'( I saved the glass, although I believe I had to tape a portion of the picture down. I now need to locate that thing, and do what you did. That's awesome! Thanks for that idea!!
Waterborn #4 Posted December 20, 2009 Never thought of creating marquee shadow boxes! I love this idea! Will have to look into this.
Jess Ragan #5 Posted December 20, 2009 How would you get one of these machines for a decent price? I'll admit, I'd love to have a cocktail arcade game in my room, even if it wasn't an especially good one.

Get tied into the local collecting community in your area and keep an eye on KLOV, Craigslist and eBay. I belong to a strong, tight-knit group of collectors here in NE called the NEACF. We let each other know about machines up for sale and hit warehouses where coin-op operators are trying to unload older stuff that no longer earns on their route. I just picked up a Pac-Man cocktail for $25. It needs a lot of love and cleaning, but I pulled the board out of it and put it in my Ms Pac UR cab and it fired right up. With the economy as it is, now is a great time to be building a collection. I haven't paid more than $300 for any of my cabs yet and that was my grail, Robotron.
