S1500 #1 Posted December 1, 2009 I can't take credit for finding this one. The Retro League found it, and oh boy is it a doozy. http://cgi.ebay.com/SUPER-MARIO-BROTHERS-2-IN-GLASS-FRAME-ECCENTRIC-RARE_W0QQitemZ280416278891QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?hash=item414a1cd96b $100K for a controller & SMB2 in a glass frame. Only $100K. If you can decipher the world's longest run-on sentence, it goes to show you it is for a good cause. You read on a bit further, and you see this poverty and bad-luck stricken seller has 5 kids. Love the amount collected so far.

homerwannabee #3 Posted December 1, 2009 The ironic thing is that if this guy were for some miracle get $100,000 by some benevolent rich guy, he would have a life that was much worse in only a year. Most likely he would spend it all, spend way beyond his means, and be poorer, and even more destitute.
Tr3vor #4 Posted December 1, 2009 there is always someone stupid out there to go and buy something like that. i'd give them 5$ for that.
S1500 #5 Posted December 1, 2009 Since when does a vasectomy cost 100K? If you look at his other auctions, they seem rather normal, except for the fact that almost everything he owns is 'RARE'. You see, if you put things into the perspective of the universe scale, everything is "Rare". That Atari combat cart? It's rare. It would not be rare if there were millions of combat cars spread evenly across the galaxy. But this is ebay. If an item is not produced in infinite amounts(ie nothing), it is thus "rare" and "LQQK". Yep, you have tons of video game merch to sell on eBay, but suddenly you need 100 large to turn you & your 5 kids(again, 5 kids)' lives around.
Mirage #6 Posted December 1, 2009 "Amount collected so far $0.00". Imagine that. The poor guy apparently can't even afford a period(.).
+save2600 #7 Posted December 1, 2009 Since when does a vasectomy cost 100K? Maybe he's thinking about the cumulative "savings" over 18 years of not having to pay for all those illegitimate children. lmao
Seob #8 Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) I'd better go to ikea and buy me some nice frames. Then pick some random games and broken controllers to put in there, put it on ebay and hey, i'm a millionaire. Edited December 1, 2009 by Seob
+RandomPerson #9 Posted December 1, 2009 He dropped the price to $500 OBO http://cgi.ebay.com/SUPER-MARIO-BROTHERS-2-IN-GLASS-FRAME-ECCENTRIC-RARE_W0QQitemZ280432089912QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?hash=item414b0e1b38
S1500 #10 Posted December 1, 2009 And there's no more sob story about being a gangsta & 5 kids in one sentence. Yeah, it's "rare" as in there aren't millions of SMB2 carts + controllers in a case around, but still not $500 rare.

The guy doesn't really say what his dream is? Is it to open up a video game store? Or is it to pay for a sex change? there is always someone stupid out there to go and buy something like that. i'd give them 5$ for that. About 8 or 9 years ago when I was working retail and broke... my roommate sold a pair of his dirty socks on eBay (with holes in them) to some person in San Fransisco for ~$23 bucks. Kinda nasty, but I guess there's a buyer out there for everything... Helped him pay his portion of the rent. (The dude asked him not to wash them... aaahhh nasty...) Video #12 Posted December 1, 2009 I remember back when the PS2 first came out. Lots of legitimate auctions ended at 10k+ Oh...and one auction for a PS2 BOX that went for like 3k. You might could argue "creative wording" or some such, but I read the auction, there was no hint that it was anything beyond the box. Wonder if the buyer was surprised when they picked that up? As for the 100k Nintendo in a glas box...WTF?!! hey, if that guy can find some shit for brains that's dumb enough to bite, I'd applaude that. But if I was trying to get money for a good cause (for my kids or whatever) I'd at least let the auction go wherever it goes. I seem to remember the auction fees, for even unbided auctions being a percent of the price you put in....what's that unsell price for a 100k item? (don't feel like loading my account and actually looking that up )
Videogamecollector123 #13 Posted December 1, 2009 Well he lowered it to 500, but the game and controller are worth about 10 bucks combined and that frame which he says is packed "bulletproof tight" is at most worth 20-40 dollars. I still can't believe he thinks this will ever sell.

shadow460 #17 Posted December 1, 2009 I don't think that lowering the price will help him at all because that isn't actually Super Mario Bros 2 it is actually Doki Doki panic with the American label on it so that is false advertising and it should have been took down from there but it was still up there when I clicked it so all the world could still see it and read about his situation and you make the choice if you want to live lawlessly or not so he chose to live lawlessly and it doesn't cost 100 grand to get a vasectomy all you have to do is go sign up for one and have about $1,000 in your pocket or if you cant afford a vasectomy just don't go out and do anything that might cause a pregnancy it really is that simple and I hate run on sentences they are kinda like a jail sentence because they go on and on and on and on like in the Journey song where Steve sings on and on and on and on so my fingers are all tied up and I'll stop now. . <--- here's a period. I sure made you read far enough for it, didn't I?
