StoneAgeGamer #101 Posted December 23, 2009 Glad to see OldSKool is using his own images now. I want to thank everyone for their support. I would like to say I am friendly with many of my competitors. I will soon be carrying GOAT Store published games for example. Mainly because in the end we are all doing it because we love classic gaming. Obviously not really for the money. Unfortunately this time had to get a bit more bitter than I wanted. I know how much these items cost wholesale and I know OldSKool isn't making money selling them at the prices he was, but there's a fine line between wanting to give your DasReviews viewers a deal and severely undercutting the market so drastically that the manufacturer has to step in and take action. As far as I am concerned this is case closed and hopefully for good. Hopefully we can now continue to discuss the FC-16 Go and not concern ourselves with anymore drama. Thanks again.
DaytonaUSA #102 Posted December 23, 2009 (edited) Hey Stone Age. Let me know when you stock up on your used games as well. Saturn and PS1 games are my cup o' tea, so if you can get some good titles I'll be sure to stop by and pick up a couple from the site. Let me know when the red or charcoal FC16 GO is in, and Ill buy it from you. Btw, funny note.. this is the second portable named "Go" I've bought in the last 5 months haha. StoneAgeGamer #103 Posted December 23, 2009 We have all colors in stock right now. Yes we have plans next year to really get our used games stock much more respectable. Its kind of been our Achilles heal since we opened 3 years ago. Its going to be our main focus next year.
DaytonaUSA #104 Posted December 23, 2009 I don't know if anyone cares, but Yobo has just stated that they are releasing a version 2 of this very soon in which the shoulder buttons are larger, don't stick, ect.. and the power lead will go in the bottom, not the top. jeremysart #106 Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) Exactly what I wanted to hear. That's very easy to do. If I can make a movie accurate stormtrooper and a rally car, I think shaving off two tabs is within reach. Oh my God, I'm seriously giddy at the thought of being able to play my games on the go. I might actually get to the half way point in my collection by 2024 now! haha. Thanks buddy. You went well beyond to deliver. This is why you get my business. I'll order it in just a bit. @ Figgler: If I can do the tabs, I'll do that instead. Having it only stick out a bit doesn't sound bad, until you realize that it's already sticking out for most of the length of the cartridge, ya know? But if you shave the tabs off, will the NTSC carts sit loosely in the GO? Thats the only worry I would have about doing that mod. Other than that, it would be pretty kickin' to play my SFC games on it. Poppin' Twin Bee, Cotton 100%, Super Battle Racers, Battle Tycoon! I wonder about its compatibility with RetroZone's Super Power Pak SNES flash cart? Hey STONE AGE, is shipping included in the cost of your products on your page? I put the FC 16 Go into a shopping cart to see if there was a calculated shipping cost, but I could not find one? Also, I noticed your FC Super Loader is only $16 right now! Good deal, how long is that sale going on for? And man, I didnt notice that Handy Boy for $10 last time I was on there, I have to get me one of those! Always more than willing to buy from a Michigander Edited December 24, 2009 by jeremysart

Always more than willing to buy from a Michigander Yeah I am not sure if the carts would not stay tight if tabs were removed. Its really hard to tell without someone actually doing it. The price does not include shipping, but to Detroit I doubt shipping would be much. Not sure if you actually live in Detroit or just SW Michigan. If you live by Howell we can always schedule a pick-up. FC Super Loaders are always that much, but we don't actually stock those anymore they drop ship from Hyperkin. We do stock Retro Entertainment Systems those and they are $15. The 10% off sale ends on the 25th. I have yet to hear if the PowerPak works on it. Not looking to "make tons of money". I rather have people jump on board on a classic deal that I have so I can expose as many potential gamers to a potentially good product at a reasonable cost than "make the most I can". If we don't support the classic remakes they are going to go the way of the dinosaur...and I think you know about dinosaurs don't you Stoneage? Hopefully Stone can play with Old Skool fair and lay to rest those weary caveman bones.

Well when I talked to Yobo they would not confirm what you said. Based on some of the things you said in the past that were not I assumed it was not true. If it is indeed true I apologize for anything I called you regarding this specific matter. I know you weren't selling the FC-16 Go for the money, because I know what they cost wholesale. However, in your attempts to support classic gaming it you were hurting it because retailers such as myself and many others obviously could not sell them for what you were. There's a difference between being the cheapest place to get FC-16 Go and to severely undercut the market. Like I said I am glad to see you are now using your own image and raised the price. I wish you luck with your DasReviews and hope you continue you support classic gaming. Edited December 24, 2009 by StoneAgeGamer
DaytonaUSA #111 Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) Actually, oops it was oldschookfools site. Wow, didn't even know I was on his! PS: First off you have shown you've been an all out dick this entire thread about multiple things old"skool"fool. Even if this was true (which I doubt), it doesn't mean your business practices are good. Edited December 24, 2009 by DaytonaUSA

DaytonaUSA #118 Posted December 29, 2009 I got mine in yesterday's mail and ... since I didn't see it, had it sit on the front porch over night in 25 degree weather! haha. Seriously though, it's very nice. It's of a better build quality than I thought it would be. I just need to cut those notches out tonight to play my SFC games, and I'll tell you how it all works. Hopefully those notches are easy to get to. I'm assuming I'll have to take apart the entire unit.
StoneAgeGamer #119 Posted December 29, 2009 You have to remove the 5 (I think 5) small screws on the bottom. That should be all to get to that part.

DaytonaUSA #121 Posted December 30, 2009 I easily cut the two tabs with mini wire cutters without unscrewing the unit. However, if I bump the cart or move it harshly by walking or something the cart freezes. I don't know if this is because the lack of tabs makes it unstable or the fact the slot isn't deep enough. I'll be putting some plastic or felt on either end of the cart opening to make the cart stay. This should fix the problem. Here is a vid showing my super famicon version of Donkey Kong Country 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kruHOJ1ki5E&feature=youtube_gdata
StoneAgeGamer #122 Posted December 30, 2009 Yeah my guess is that the tabs did offer some stability. Adding something back in there like you said should solve that. I hope when Innex and/or Hyperkin make their's they make the slot deeper. You'd think for the size of the FC-16 Go it would go in farther than it does. I cleaned my cart and ended up not being able to continue at one point after loosing everything. I am using the US version. I have just took it as being a compatiblity issue. I cleaned my cart and ended up not being able to continue at one point after loosing everything. I am using the US version. I have just took it as being a compatibility issue. I think it's something wrong with your cart. I've played many of the more "graphically intense" games and I haven't had a problem with any, including Donkey Kong 2. Of course, I have the Japanese version, but still, it seems to be just fine. I played for a few levels and died multiple times.. so I think I would have reached where you were. The only problem I'm having is keeping the cart in a position for it to turn on. Actually, once it's on, as long as I don't hit it, it's fine. However, booting up a cart is very hard because it has to be at the exact correct angle for it to work correctly. I've lost two game's saves for far because of my seemingly never-ending On/Off/On/Off/On... to get the game to work. Once I put something in there to stabilize the cart, I'll follow up and let everyone know if that helps. But if you're using it as intended (with US carts) you theoretically shouldn't have any issues. Edited December 30, 2009 by DaytonaUSA
