Custer's Revenge mentioned on Howard Stern today

I was listening to Howard Stern today and they were asking trivia questions with Sal the stockbroker and Eric the midget. They asked Sal who the 2 presidents were during the Civil War. Sal mentioned the Atari game Custer's Revenge thinking Custer was one of the presidents. Gary Dell'abate then mentioned how the game was a porno game and described the goal of the game. Eventually they showed Howard screen shots and gave a full discription of the game play. Funny where Atari can turn up.

Heard that on the way to work today and had to sit in the parking lot for about 5 minutes to listen to the end. I was pretty amazed that Sal knew Custer's Revenge for the 2600. Good stuff.

Hard to believe that Sal know's anything. It is amazing this guy's thought process. No wonder his wife had an emotional friend.

...and still nothing redeeming comes from Howard Stern and his friends. Someone should hack it, make Howard tied to the pole and make the "midget" Custer and send him the screen caps

Actually those kinds of things are absolutely welcome on the show from what I know. :P

Having worked as a writer for Howard Stern and having appeared on his show several times, are you hurling that insult at me? :)

For the record, I think Sal's a jackass. But I have respect for everyone else on the show, both those I've worked with and those I haven't.

what got me was Sal thought George Washington was the president during the civil war and Custer was the president of the Confederacy but somehow he knows about an obscure Atari 2600 game lol the guy is a total freak and yet somehow he is successful in life and has a dream job making phoney phone calls... There is a lesson to be learned in there someplace, but I don't know what it is.

Good for you, we all have our opinions and I was just expressing mine. I assert that I think Howard Stern and his cohorts are just perverse radio shock jocks and really not funny.

*poof - ignored*

Why are you ignoring people for liking a radio host?

I hate Rush Limbaugh but if you like him, well that's just fine. It's what makes the world go round there Mister Judgey!

Like the Yankees, half the fun of being a Stern fan is that so many people hate them. I love the spewing of hatred. It amazes me to no end and makes me laugh. There are going to be people in this life that do not share your opinion.

You should laugh more as it was blatently obvious Bill was joking. He even put on a "hey look! I'm joking" icon. You may have seen them before. They look like this. icon_smile.gif

In retrospect, perhaps he should have used the winky one, but I think he is probably okay with being poofed. As I think I am going to be poofed next can you do it gently?

Oh, and Sal does suck.

Boy, I didn't expect that reaction at all. I guess you're allowed to express your opinion, but I'm not (even if I'm doing it tongue in cheek). Oh well.

I think it is pretty damn cool you wrote for the show.

When I was in 7th grade, my mother would listen in the car when he was on WNBC 660. We only heard very little as she would turn it off in disgust most of the time. (Yet every ride home, he was back on again.) When I got my own car at 16, he was on K-Rock in the late 80's and I have been listening every morning since.

If I may pry, when were you with the show? Any good stories? Is Fred as cool as I think he is?

I appeared on the show several times when Howard was on WNBC in New York. I was one of the writers on his Fox late night pilot and I was also a writer on his animated show "Doomsday."

I liked Fred. He's very bright and talented.
