Wanted: River Patrol or Lochjaw CIB

Recommended Posts

If anyone has a CIB River Patrol or Lochjaw (NTSC) they might be willing to part with for the right price, I'd like to talk.

How many hundreds to thousands are you willing to pay?

AX

$3000 for either -- maybe more depending on condition...

I would say it would take more ;)

Why do you say that?

Because those that curently have them are fairly hardcore collectors. To get a collector to sell, you must pay a hefty premium. Are you going to sell him your CIB Lochjaw for $3k? I don't think so. Maybe if he offers $5k or $6k one of you may bite.

If one comes up for auction then he may well get it for $3k, but there hasn't been a CIB copy of either of those sell for many many years.

No, it would be a bitch to replace either one of those. :D

So what WOULD it take, do you think? Is there really no one who'd part with one for less than 5 or 6K?

You either have to be patient, until a new copy pops up on Ebay or another market, or put up crazy offers here in the hope that one of the current owners sells. There's no harm in making it known here that you are after a copy. IF one of the existing owners is contemplating selling, your offer may just be the thing that convinces them to sell ;)

The secret to Atari collecting is patience ;) You may have to wait 10 years to get one, but it will be worth it in the end!

Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely looking if any of you existing owners are contemplating selling. In the meantime, I guess I'll watch the auction sites and keep my fingers crossed.

Out of interest - Any reason you want those two in particular?

I'm looking for about a dozen others, but I thought I'd try to land one of these two after raising some

extra $ recently.
