+Larry #1 Posted December 5, 2009 The SDX manual says that "Whenever SpartaDos is re-initialized (i.e. RESET) the default directory is set to the MAIN (root) directory." I'm using 4.42, and when I press RESET, I go back to the same location where I was. If I'm in D5:TOOLS and press RESET, then I am still in D5:TOOLS -- not D5: (MAIN). I ran into this because when I CHDIR>TOOLS, then I can't get back to D5: (MAIN). I've had trouble with this before, but I don't remember the way home... It's probably quite simple, but I can't find it in the manual. Thanks, Larry

+Larry #3 Posted December 5, 2009 Yes, from my MS-Dos days, that's what I thought. But I kept getting "150 Path not found". But your post made me look at the command -- evidently there's got to be a space in there CD > (not) CD> Ahhhh! Thanks, Cabell. I'm sure I'll have more questions. drac030 #4 Posted December 5, 2009 The SDX manual says that "Whenever SpartaDos is re-initialized (i.e. RESET) the default directory is set to the MAIN (root) directory." I cannot find this information in the 4.42 manual http://www.goodbytexl.homepage.t-online.de/Manual%20V4-42_Rev_1b.pdf I'm using 4.42, and when I press RESET, I go back to the same location where I was. If I'm in D5:TOOLS and press RESET, then I am still in D5:TOOLS -- not D5: (MAIN). Sure, 4.40 and later versions do not reset the paths, as it was annoying in the case when a program (e.g. The Music ProTracker) called the warm reset routine after its execution. It's probably quite simple, but I can't find it in the manual. Maybe because this information is missing from the old (4.20) manual. I remember that I was in this same problem once, when I was a SDX beginner... In the 4.42 manual it is page 14.
+Larry #5 Posted December 5, 2009 (edited) Hi Konrad- Thanks for the info, and I just sent you a PM about some other stuff. But the RESET info is in the 4.42 manual (.pdf) page 44. Pretty much verbatim from the original manual. edit/update: I see the 1B and this is different that the 4.42 manual that I was looking at: http://sdx.atari8.info/sdx_files/4.42/Manual%20V4-42.pdf -Larry The SDX manual says that "Whenever SpartaDos is re-initialized (i.e. RESET) the default directory is set to the MAIN (root) directory."
