LinkoVitch #1 Posted October 26, 2002 Do you need an external power supply to program a Jaguar flash cart? or does the Jag have to be turned on? can you program them whilst they are plugged into a Jag (even if it's off). ? Trying to build my own cheaper versions, but I think I will need an external PSU for them, just wondered how the official ones work.

You plug them into the Jaguar, hook them up to the parallel port on your computer with cable, turn on Jaguar and dump the ROM onto it using the "FLASH" program. Hope this helps. jaysmith2000 #4 Posted October 26, 2002 what do you get on the Jag's screen whilst you are dumping to them? You have to hold down the "A" or "C" key on the joypad (if memory serves) and then it says "Erasing Flash Cart", then on the computer it starts transferring the program and shows each byte as it transfers. After it is done it tells you transfer successful. I think that's it. Been a while since I dumped to my Flash, I usually use my Alpine.
