Good websites an Atari Player should know.

Recommended Posts

I just recently discovered O Shea, and I was wondering if there are any other sites that every Atari collector/player should know.

Thanks.

Edit: An atari player? Or a atari player? Or are they both correct. w/e.

O'shea is currently on our shun list I would assume as from a thread in this forum it's been revealed that they are liquidating their inventory of games for scrap metal. As for websites Atari players should know, well AA is about the only you need to know! Atari2600.com also I guesse and I don't know of any others

You should also know Best Electronics. They've been around for decades and are a reliable source of parts, finished products, and a few games. Don't let the website fool you; they know their stuff! I've been buying things from them for years, and have never had a problem.

And then there's Video 61. I've only bought a few things from them over the years, but they've been just as advertised. Lately they've been getting into newly produced items, such as a few games and I think I heard on some other thread that they're going to be selling a newly designed controller for the 7800.

I also frequent Atari2600.com, where lots of classic games and systems are sold.

Most recently, I've been buying from Trade-N-Games.

AN atari player ;)

Yeah:

Use A if the next word begins with a consonant SOUND.

This is a sound rule, NOT a spelling rule.

. . .

Use AN if the next word begins with a vowel SOUND.

This is a sound rule, NOT a spelling rule.

One thing I still don't like about grammar is the rule where you place 'an' before a word that starts with "h". It sounds proper when you say "an historic moment in time" or "an hourly rate"...well the 'historic' example is poor, if only because some people pronounce the 'h', so "a historic moment in time" sounds good to me too. But to use 'an' before EVERY 'h'-word?...lame.

I also can't stand when people pronounce the 'sh' in words like 'schedule'. In fact, it's ONLY that word. "SHedule" sounds like ass!..."SKedule"...ah, that has a nice ring to it.

Rantimus Minimus over.

I'm not hearing the "an historic" as proper since the "h" is a consonant sound. "An hourly" yes since it is a vowel sound.

How about pronouncing "progress" as it is spelled versus "praw-gress" with the former sounding snooty...I always say the latter to bug the locals...

I heard English is the HARDEST language to learn.I can see why,it simply does not make sense.Shouldn't BLOOD be spelled BL"U"D??,like its pronounced?.Two O's together in other words are pronounced like blue, but we're talking about the red stuff that flows through our veins,so its BL"U"D, :ponder: :?.Same thing with FLOOD,then "FOOD"should be pronounced"FUD".Yep English makes a lot of sense. No wonder foreigners have a hard time with English.

So there's really no other sites like Oshea?

Damn. I assumed that because one site had all these cheap new games, there would be others.

Sorry if I'm bumping an old thread, but I thought it would be rude not to say thanks.

So thanks :)
