Cebus Capucinis #1 Posted December 20, 2009 So I've been tinkering around with my Atarimax USB Multicart and I absolutely love it, but I'm completely and utterly SWAMPED at the amount of software for these systems. It's so awesome that there are SO many games out there, it's going to take forever for me to get through them all! Just browsing through Atarimania (many thanks for that awesome, awesome site Rom Hunter) makes my head spin there's so much cool stuff! So my question is: What games are your favorites for the A8 computers? I'm using it on a 130XE so no worries about compatibility. What games absolutely positively MUST I play and play a ton of? What are your top 10 or so, I guess? Just give me suggestions!
AB Positive #2 Posted December 20, 2009 I'm quite curious about it myself - how well does it work with Multi-disk games? I'm dying to see a version of Alternate Reality: The City on cart... and the Atarimax carts seem like the best way, if only some ASM genius could hack it together... Cebus Capucinis #3 Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) It works brilliantly, actually. The disks link up and it's just a simple matter of pressing a function key and then 1-2-3-4 depending on which disk image you need. It supports up to 4 only, though, IIRC. I haven't used it much, but for the few times I have used it so far it's worked flawlessly. Edited December 20, 2009 by CebusCapucinis

AB Positive #8 Posted December 20, 2009 Hmm, I wonder if you have a blank disk in say a 1050 with the multicart - would it look to the disk drive to save? That's always been the problem with AR - 5 disk images :/
Cebus Capucinis #9 Posted December 21, 2009 To everyone who mentioned Yoomp! - Thanks! That is such a great little game! WAY hard and really addictive! Will be playing this a lot in the coming days!
carmel_andrews #10 Posted December 21, 2009 Are you sure about Bros Mr Fish.....that game is even worse then the ST version of Grt Giana sisters (even if bros was written in TB)
MrFish #11 Posted December 21, 2009 Are you sure about Bros Mr Fish.....that game is even worse then the ST version of Grt Giana sisters (even if bros was written in TB) Sure about what? Didn't you read the comment next to the entry? I think the digitized sound effects are hilarious, especially when coupled with the, nearly unplayable, character graphics movement. So, yea... I recommend it for a good laugh.

MrFish #13 Posted December 21, 2009 Some of my favorites. Are some of those PAL only like Yoomp? There is a Yoomp NTSC version. Bomb Jack/Jake [PAL] (at the moment) Bros [PAL] Citadel [PAL] Crownland [PAL] IK+ (beta) [PAL] Sisyphos [PAL] All the others should be fine on NTSC, aside from the music being sped up by the refresh differences on the European ones.
