Mayhem #1 Posted December 24, 2009 With thanks to Robert Hurst for initial hosting here for the masses... it's time to unveil the goodness and let it shine forth to those who want it Gamebase20 v0.2 One known current issue: Pilot Pursuit TAP doesn't work with Vice v2.x currently. Already resolved for the next release in due time. Please report any issues you may find and I will seek to investigate them. And have a Merry Vic-mas
Mirage #2 Posted December 25, 2009 Great! I'll try this out soon. I've been looking forward to this for a long time! (Edit: I meant looking fwd to v2... I think I missed that altogether.)
+Random Terrain #3 Posted January 1, 2010 - Extract database Vic20_v02 zip in Gamebase directory Did that. - Extract supplied Vice zip somewhere if required (versions 1.22 to 2.1 supported) Yep - Extract screenshots zip somewhere OK. - Extract games zip somewhere Okey-dokey. - Extract extras zip somewhere I done dooded it. (remember to have "use folder names" ticked) I assume that's a setting somewhere. - Use GEMUS to find emulator(s) What is GEMUS? Was GEMUS included in this download? GEMUS -> Emulator Setup Wizard -> point to path where Vice emulator(s) reside I'll do that once I figure out what and where GEMUS is. - Fire up Gamebase20 and path link Say what? Tools -> PathsGames tab -> path to the GAMES folder Pictures tab -> path to the SCREENSHOTS folder Extra tab -> path to the EXTRAS folder Guess I'll figure out what that's about once I find out what GEMUS is and how to fire up Gamebase20. +Random Terrain #5 Posted January 1, 2010 Good instructions start on this thread. Thanks Mayhem! Thanks, but it looks like GameBase is completely useless for Vista users: http://www.bu22.com/ It says: Note: If you are installing on Vista I advise NOT installing to your Program Files directory, as due to Vista's new security model GameBase might not run as you expect. Instead I recommend installing elsewhere, e.g. "D:\Apps\GameBase". Problem is, the installer won't let me install to anywhere but Program Files. I'm stuck there with no options to go to other folders. I've never seen an installer do that.
+Random Terrain #6 Posted January 1, 2010 I ignored the warning and installed it anyway. Everything seems to be working. Thanks. Now I need to figure out where you get the Commodore 64 version of this.
+remowilliams #7 Posted January 1, 2010 With thanks to Robert Hurst for initial hosting here for the masses... it's time to unveil the goodness and let it shine forth to those who want it Very cool, thanks to everyone involved! I ignored the warning and installed it anyway. Everything seems to be working. Thanks. Now I need to figure out where you get the Commodore 64 version of this. The C64 version I think you are only going to find on newsgroups and torrents, it's 4+ GB in size as of v5.
Mayhem #8 Posted January 2, 2010 Thanks for the feedback, it can be hard trying to write instructions for this if you haven't done it before. Also perhaps this thread should be moved to "classic computer" forum instead...?
