StanJr #1 Posted December 25, 2009 I've only made it to the Forest Temple, but wow! This game is a LOT of fun. Simple, and full of Zelda goodness, but there is enough new stuff with the train and such that it is fresh and new. An interesting take on the Zelda legend as well. And you Wind Waker haters can relax, the train is nothing like the boat from WW. I missed out on Phantom Hourglass, so I'm new to Zelda on the DS, but I am LOVING Spirit Tracks! Very fun. Anyone else?
Tom-Lynx #2 Posted December 26, 2009 I bought it for my 12 year old son for Christmas, but he had too many items compared to his brother, so I held it back for his birthday on December 31st in a week. I'm looking forward to seeing him play it.... we are huge Zelda fans across our family.

BDW #5 Posted December 26, 2009 (edited) I think it actually looks pretty lame. Having to shuttle around in a boat was a stretch, and now this. What were they seriously thinking? Boat --> Choo Choo Train????? Edited December 26, 2009 by brandondwright
StanJr #6 Posted December 26, 2009 Shame on you brandon, I already told you that the train dynamic is nothing like the boat in WW. Don't hate, the game is fun and the train is fun too!

You must have put that there while I wasn't looking! Shame on you more
Wickeycolumbus #8 Posted December 26, 2009 I had a chance to play it, and so far it's great It seems a little easy though.
Emehr #9 Posted December 27, 2009 Played through the Forest Temple and now I'm onto the next one. I'm really enjoying it so far! I like the usage of the mic and riding the train. Good stuff!
StanJr #10 Posted December 27, 2009 The mic usage is incredible and the ability to write on your maps and then save it for later is a revolution (to me) in adventure gaming. So much better than relying on my memory! I wouldn't say the game is too easy (I die a lot especially trying to evade the evil trains), but there is a lot to do the deeper you get into it. It's not super tough or anything, but it's probably about as hard as any other recent Zelda offering I've played.
MagitekAngel #11 Posted December 27, 2009 What more could I offer here? Spirit Tracks kicks ass. An improvement over Phantom Hourglass in every way, and that game was no slouch.
StanJr #12 Posted December 28, 2009 I'm all the way to the fourth level of the Spirit Tower and things are getting tricky. Easily some of the best puzzles in any Zelda game I have ever played. Devious, but not impossible. Still loving the train action as well. Go Zelda!

I just got the 3rd rail map, but have been putting off going to the Ocean Realm (doing side quests instead).
NE146 #14 Posted December 28, 2009 I thought the title of this was "LOLZ Spirit Tracks is Fabulous" But yeah I'm digging it. I finished the first DS Zelda, and am taking my time with this one (i.e. 5 -10 minutes a day whilst on the crapper ) Having lots of fun.
MagitekAngel #15 Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) Crapper gaming is the way to go. ...as long as you remember to get up off the john eventually. Edited December 28, 2009 by MagitekAngel
StanJr #16 Posted January 7, 2010 Just finished this baby off and WOW what a game. This is easily one of the most fun Zelda games to come out in a while. Twilight Princess is amazing and epic, but if you are just looking for some fun LoZ action, Spirit Tracks is a guaranteed winner! Were I to guess, I'd wager I sank about 45 hours into it and managed to get about 96% complete. I highly recommend this game!
TMAN34 #17 Posted January 8, 2010 I am in the fire temple I think this game is way better than Phantom hourglass. Nintendo has added variety to the train riding sections. I felt the boat parts of Phantom hourglass were unbearable. Plus, the puzzles are fun with just the right amount of challenge. I also think the tower is a lot of fun. No having to retread the same levels over and over again. I am ready for the next Zelda game.
NE146 #18 Posted January 8, 2010 I'd like a proper overworld in a new 2D Zelda.. the way it used to be. The last "good" one I think was in the first Gameboy Zelda/Zelda DX. Minnish Cap's was passable though, but it was missing something. It's too bad that Gamecube 4-swords was such a multiplayer oriented game. The worlds in that were so fresh and vibrant.. I really wish it could've been transformed into a full blown 2D zelda Oh, and yes I'm still enjoying Spirit Tracks. I'm in the Ice Area now. Progressing nice and slow

Spirit Tracks has some of the best, challenging puzzles I have encountered in a Legend of Zelda game ever. Not too hard, but tricky. I love it! NE146, I agree to a point, but I thought the train was an entertaining choice nonetheless. The boat was solid for Wind Waker, but I think everyone had enough boating after that. NE146 #21 Posted January 10, 2010 I agree that the train is fun. Again, I'm enjoying Spirit Tracks.. a lot. That doesn't change the fact however that I'd still would love a new 2D zelda with a proper overworld.
Vic George 2K3 #22 Posted March 17, 2010 Interesting game and concept for it, but it just seems to scream "JUMP THE SHARK!" very loudly with its story.
StanJr #23 Posted March 17, 2010 I'm not sure I agree. If Zelda has a "jump the shark" game, I think it is Four Swords Adventure. Spirit Tracks story jumps no more sharks than Wind Waker and I think both are very interesting interpretations of the Zelda Legend.
