chriswhit #1 Posted December 26, 2009 Telstar arcade for sale. Fully cleaned and tested. Works great. Included is the console, gun, power supply, rf switch box, rf direct adapter, and game carts 1, 2, and 3. This setup is ready to play. No jitter in the controls. There is a small crack in both sides of the cart slot which doesn't affect the system (first pic). The sticker on the steering wheel is in poor shape to(see pics). Feel free to ask for pics you want or ask questions. PM me with your offers. My user name on ebay is chriswhit-2009 if you want to check me out. I do take paypal or money orders. edit= I did test the gun on a regular television. Used the high def. only to get better screen shots.
chriswhit #2 Posted December 26, 2009 Is there no interest in Telstar arcades or is it just a bad weekend to sell due to the holiday?
Cebus Capucinis #3 Posted December 26, 2009 I'm interested but broke as a joke basically.
BigO #4 Posted December 27, 2009 (edited) We had one of these when I was a kid, so I'm a little interested from a nostalgia perspective. I have no clue what they're worth though. Wouldn't want to make an insulting offer. Edited December 27, 2009 by BigO
chriswhit #5 Posted December 27, 2009 We had one of these when I was a kid, so I'm a little interested from a nostalgia perspective. I have no clue what they're worth though. Wouldn't want to make an insulting offer. I only know there hard to find. I'd been looking for almost 10 yrs but every time one came around I was broke. Once I got one I found 5 more in the same week. What a score. I gave a few away as Christmas gifts. Probably I'll cry when I find out what 3 mint ones are worth with the first 3 carts. +Ransom #6 Posted December 27, 2009 The Telstar Arcade was the first video game system of any sort that I owned. I was so happy with it! I loved the racing game on the first cartridge in particular. I played it all the time, and got really good at it. Then my cousin's boyfriend (who was 18 or so at the time) came over for Christmas (I'd gotten it for my birthday the month before) and quickly discovered that you could just steer your car to the bottom of the screen and never get hit by the oncoming cars. He of course effortlessly blew away my record, then laughed about how easy it was to beat video games. I was just crushed. (Hey, I was a little kid at the time! ) If I had room for another console in my life, this one would be it, just for nostalgia reasons. But I set my limit long ago, and I have to stick with it. Best wishes on selling it, though!

chriswhit #8 Posted December 27, 2009 (edited) Still have it. I would consider trades or partial trades if everyone is taped out due to Christmas. I love Atari prototypes. I wouldn't mind getting a cuttle cart 2 or anything rare. let me know what you have I may even toss some cash your way for the right item. I'm only selling this to enlarge my Atari collection. I can see having a spare but multiple spares are pointless unless there is a home brew purpose which in this case there is not. chriswhit #9 Posted December 27, 2009 For those of you who don't know much about this system. This is one of the rarest Coleco products made. I think the only rarer product is the Coleco keyboard for the Colecovision. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Here's a few links about it. For something so rare you think I'd atleast get more than one offer. So far I've Been offered a XE light gun and Barnyard Blaster for 7800. If I get any other offers I'll post what the offer is but I will keep who offered it private. Thanks http://retro-treasures.blogspot.com/2008/07/coleco-telstar-arcade.html http://www.davesclassicarcade.com/consoles.html#telstar_arcade http://www.geekvintage.com/index.php http://www.pong-story.com/coleco.htm
vintagegamecrazy #10 Posted December 28, 2009 What would you be hoping to sell it for? I'd be interested though I'm a bit tight too.
chriswhit #11 Posted December 28, 2009 (edited) What would you be hoping to sell it for? I'd be interested though I'm a bit tight too. I now have an offer of $150 and another offer. XE light gun Barnyard blaster Crossbow Rampage Crossbow Scrapyard dog cib Midnight Mutants cib Tomcat F-14 Toyshop Trouble for2600 And a 2600 dust cover I like the Idea of trades. I did promise a guy here I would let him know what the highest offer was to see If he wanted to go higher and I'm a man of my word so I won't confirm a price without talking to him first. You can offer anything over 150 and you may get it if your offer is the highest. Or offer a trade. I collect for 2600, 5200, 7800, Rare nes, and all Genesis products. I don't have much rare for atari. only 2 carts above a r5 for the 2600. I ship fast and with a confirmation #so who ever ends up with this will be impressed with the wait time. I will also ship this anywhere as long as international buyers understand shipping may be slow due to customs. I like anything hard to find or things for development to. Don't offer a harmony or SC in the trade mix though as a have a few of them. I will say when I posted this I was hoping for 200 plus shipping it may go lower or higher though. Maybe even some home brew supplys Edited December 28, 2009 by chriswhit
BigO #12 Posted December 28, 2009 Cool, that's way more than I would have been willing/able to offer. Good luck with the sale.
chriswhit #13 Posted December 28, 2009 Thread will be closing at 9am on Tuesday morning so If your thinking on this you don't want to wait much longer. So far the trade offer is what I'm leaning twords.
Cebus Capucinis #14 Posted December 28, 2009 Cool, that's way more than I would have been willing/able to offer. Same here. It's definitely what it's worth, especially with the carts. Honestly you could probably get $200 out of it with no troubles if you listed it on ePay. I was in the same boat, I am more than willing to offer that much but it's the follow-through that's the problem. I can't guarantee I have $200 to plop down in a week or so, especially since I just cooked up another deal for something.
orangest #15 Posted December 30, 2009 Sorry to threadjack, but I was wondering if anyone knows how much a loose cartridge #4 would go for these days. DP has it listed for $100, but I don't know how close that is to the current going rate. Thanks in advance!
