POKEY Chips for 80 Cents Each

Recommended Posts

This is just to let everyone know that I'm offering POKEY chips for sale for 80 cents each. They're from a batch of 7800 Ballblazer cartridges that I've disassembled for recycling, so you'll have to desolder them from the Ballblazer boards yourself, but this is one way of obtaining inexpensive POKEY chips to add to your Cuttle Cart II or XBoard. You can also reuse the boards for 32K 7800 games that don't require the POKEY chip. Details are in my post in the Marketplace forum:

Blasphemer! That's one of the best games on the 7800! :)

Some eccentric person with lots of disposable income really needs to fab more POKEY and SID chips.

Hey now, here's an idea. There's millions of C64s out there. Why not do something crazy and pick up a bunch of 'em at Goodwill, extract the SID chips and make the first 7800 homebrew game to use a SID chip in the cart?

That's like double-plus revenge on Commodore for wrecking the computer and video game industries and then dumping the Tramiels on our beloved company for the final insult....

You'd probably make more money selling the SID chips on their own.

True. But I said "do something crazy".
