carmel_andrews
Just nabbed myself the complete rom set (less chd's) for mame .134 (I think it's .134) On some emulations, I seem to get a 'coin error' message when trying to add credits, therefore preventing the game from starting properly Is this a bug in mame or does'nt games with 'coin error' bugs work with mame Is there a work round for this, I've tried the 'coin lockout' option but doesn't seem to do anything
Austin
I've had the same problem occasionally. I'd be curious to hear what the explanation is.

Rybags
Try opening the CD ROM tray and popping a fiver in.
carmel_andrews
good question buzhard...i'll have to go through the 8000 plus roms again I guess that certain emulations are broken because of the coin error thing Rybags, bad idea, it will bugger up the cd/dvd drive
Rybags
Check the key definitions (Tab from within a game). There's usually things relating to coin door etc. Often you can just save a whole lot of trouble by doing DIP settings for a game and setting it to free play. Your original post was kinda vague. There are some games that require you to open the service menu and make adjustments.
Lafe Fredbjornson
Muchi Muchi Pork (mmpork.zip) is giving me the Coin Error. I was able to go into Service Mode and set it to Free Play to overcome this calamity. Edited August 1, 2019 by Lafe Fredbjornson

Not my type of game, but I did play it for a minute or two. Pretty colorful. I liked it.
