José Pereira #1 Posted January 13, 2010 Hello all. I've not abandoned LN! But sometimes I need to do something new... This time I'm seeing how and taked some Chars from some Hi-Resol. Games. And why not build some Screens with that Fonts. This one for today it's Saboteur. I done this Screen-Redone, but, like in LN in the way I see that things can work. This time (Hi-Resol. Games) with the idea of getting a little bit further. Will be me to construct the Screens Map from a Font editor (some games could be from simple Charsets/Lines and others "Tiles" (I am also trying to understand how this "Tiles" thing is/work)). Here is the C64&A8 Screens: and here it is the ".g2f" and ".xex" files: showscreen.zip As you can see I get some "Errors" at the bottom Status Area. I'm trying to fix it but having some dificulties (many PMs./Colours splits...) Ideas, thoughts, suggestions welcome. Thanks. José Pereira.
José Pereira #2 Posted January 13, 2010 Ah! On the Emulator you get this (all seems Dark in the Borders): José Pereira.
José Pereira #3 Posted January 14, 2010 Hi. Because of the size of the PLayers, the PMs can only be used on Screen Background Objects. In this way, different Walls colours have to change by DLIs. You'll get PF1(Players Body) with different colours, but because it's ...0 (Darkest Lumin.) you'll see that on Emulator Atari800WinPlus with OlivierP Palete it seems as it is all in Black. It's the only possibility, but I think it look good. And this screen only uses 46Chars in the Playing Area. C64&A8 Screen: And the Files: saboteur.zip Greetings. José Pereira. José Pereira #4 Posted January 14, 2010 Hello. It's me again. The idea of PF1 as diffrent colour by DLIs. and PMs. get the Lumin. of PF1 can be better looking with a very, very carefully choose of PF2 colour, that better simulates if it was always Black. Now you can see the Screen with that Blocks above PMs. like if it was the "Saboteur" frame there: On the Yellow/Browish looks good, but on Blues it's very hard. this is the better I've got on tari800WinPlus with the OlivierP Pallete. Greetings. José Pereira.

José Pereira #6 Posted January 14, 2010 The better, better one (changing sky (PF2) to colour "AA"): José Pereira.
José Pereira #7 Posted January 14, 2010 I'm back. This time with Monty on the Run. Very diffrent and many, many more difficult than Saboteur. PF1 for Darkest colour. PF2 Lightest colours Static&moving Objects. P0&1 for Trees/Lamp in Objects where Monty Mole goes under. P3&5thPlayer for Objects that Monty Mole goes above. P2 for Monty Mole P2,3,5th Player moves in all high (space free), untill reaches the wall. C16&A8: The screens are all the same through all versions. It was C16 because I have it from the Map. And here comes the Files: monty_on_the_run_02.zip Some small errors, but nothing that cannot be fixed. Just see with your Eyes and who said A8 cannot show colours in Hi-Resol.? Greetings. José Pereira.
flashjazzcat #8 Posted January 14, 2010 I'm back. This time with Monty on the Run. It's almost like you'd never been away. Seriously, your efforts are really appreciated but you have the distinction of being the first person I've seen on this forum who's quoted and responded to himself in a thread consisting solely of his own postings. I'd say relax and give folks a chance to digest the fine work you've done. Obviously you have a point to prove here re: the C64 and you seem to be doing it very well with prolific screen designs. PeteD #9 Posted January 14, 2010 Maybe set up the blog on here? Then interested people can follow your progress there. Looking pretty cool anyway. Pete
