+save2600 #26 Posted November 6, 2014 Only a small handful of homebrews utilize a rotary controller. Remember... a rotary controller was never officially released for the Jag. Even though it's a miracle that T2K has code written to take advantage of such a controller, it's only after the Jag's demise that people started hacking pots into their gamepads for play with it. +CyranoJ #27 Posted November 6, 2014 That's a shame. Would be an obvious choice to utilize it. Do any other games than Tempest support rotary? The rotaries are not analogue in nature. You can't, for example, easily make a 'Kaboom!' game because you'd be constantly spinning to move left or right instead of positioning yourself depending on the arc of the dial. Also, the rate of spin can affect the readings, depending on the scan rate. Too fast and it'll jitter left/right and just become horrible.
+Stephen #28 Posted November 26, 2014 Per the instructions (see link below) there are only two levels in the Breakout Classic. http://atariage.com/manual_page.html?SystemID=JAGUAR&SoftwareLabelID=1068&maxPages=16¤tPage=12 The original Breakout game stopped at a fixed score IIRC. 82-T/A #29 Posted December 6, 2014 Man, I love thread revivals. It's cool to see what people posted even just half a decade ago. But, I had no idea Breakout 2000 was so hard to get? I don't even remember where I got my copy... I assume Go Atari?
+save2600 #30 Posted December 6, 2014 Man, I love thread revivals. It's cool to see what people posted even just half a decade ago. But, I had no idea Breakout 2000 was so hard to get? I don't even remember where I got my copy... I assume Go Atari? Yeah, I just purchased my second copy the other day via Carls site (sold my original Telegames probably 12+ years ago) and am hoping the label is nicer this time around. Edit - disappointed in the "full color" vinyl label. I'll update later and I'll post a pic. Not sure how "new" these Telegames releases are either. Box looks a little beat up. Fair amount of scuffs on it and one of the ends of the top end flap came pre-torn - as if somebody had (not so carefully) opened it *after* the flap had been closed. No shrink-wrap either, which explains why the box has the scuffs and marks on it. ...these new Telegames labels suck. Guess I've seen worse from them though. Almost looks like it was produced using an ink jet printer on some flimsy vinyl label. The vinyl is so loose/flimsy, that there's a permanent screw hole in the upper left. The indent doesn't show real well in this photo, but those damn horizontal printer lines sure do! Oh and the label size is a wee bit small. I have no interest in preserving the "integrity" of the label on this cart and would be happy to purchase a replacement if anyone can do a much nicer job. Die cut, better artwork, etc. Somebody posted a bunch of Telegames' alternative labels a while ago here. I don't remember seeing one for B2K, but will try to track it down...
