VectorGamer #3 Posted January 23, 2010 (edited) You have one good game in there anyway, AD&D. I like Lock N Chase and I hear it is really nice on the INTV According to the "Classic 80s Home Video Games" price guide I got a really good deal on this auction. Let's see though when I actually get if there's some rattling around going on... Edited January 23, 2010 by rmaerz
Mirage #4 Posted January 23, 2010 If it works well, I'd say that was a really good deal. I still don't have an original Intellvision, only the II. Seeing stuff like this makes me feel like being drawn back into the 'bay... must resist!
+thegoldenband #5 Posted January 23, 2010 That is a very nice deal. Thunder Castle, while not super-rare, is still worth a good chunk of what you paid.

CGQuarterly #7 Posted January 23, 2010 $20 is definitely less than anyone would charge for that setup here in the Marketplace forum. Chris
Rik #8 Posted January 23, 2010 (edited) That's a damn good deal.It cost me way more than that just for THUNDER CASTLE alone. Edited January 23, 2010 by Rik
Eltigro #9 Posted January 23, 2010 A used game shop near where I live has two Intellivisions... when I inquired as to how much they were I was told, "I don't think they even really work, they're more just for show." I'm considering buying one of them anyway. Good deal on this one. Enjoy!
cvga #10 Posted January 23, 2010 I think the pac-man is a good port also. Check out the castles in Thunder Castle. They look like they have the Atari Age symbol on them.

Incidentally, I copied and pasted the game list from the auction. I would never call it "Pack-Man." Just wanted to clear that up!

+Ransom #13 Posted January 23, 2010 Nice deal! And if you can handle the controllers, you won't regret your purchase. AD&D is excellent. Lock 'n' Chase is good. And there are lots of Intellivision carts out there available, cheap. (I'm slouching toward a complete collection of Mattel-produced Intellivision carts, CIB, as much as I don't normally like collecting just for the sake of collecting. I just love that machine, and I love the book style cartridge boxes. And I've always been a sucker for overlays. )

Tonight, I was weak and gave in to the temptation of this: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 330395719843 What have I become? My sweetest friend... Wow, you got a great deal on that lot! Like some of the others, I also paid about that much for my copy of Thunder Castle. There's nothing wrong with owning an Intellivision--I'm a dedicated Atari loyalist and even I own one now, even though it's an Intellivision II--so don't feel bad. At least it wasn't a ColecoVision. Speaking of the Inty, it looks like the Nintendo DS version of Intellivision Lives is finally coming out this summer for $19.99! I don't even own a DS anymore, but I think I'll pick up a copy anyway. fiddlepaddle #15 Posted January 23, 2010 Not a bad collection of games, really. At least you don't have to throw away any sports games after you get 'em.
cvga #16 Posted January 23, 2010 Intellivision sports games (especially baseball) are the best!
RickHarrisMaine #17 Posted January 23, 2010 The Intellivision port of Pac-Man is excellent....there isn't a better one available other than the 5200 from this time-frame of the early 1980's. And actually, the controller really works well for it too.

SRGilbert #19 Posted January 23, 2010 There was a thread recently about your least favorite console, and for me, of that era, I'd say it was the INTV. I do have one (and about 15 games) but I never play it or even hook it up. I think it comes from memories of my family having a 2600, while my cousins got the INTV. I remember them having the sports games and some sort of casino game I think, and thinking "wow, this is really lame, and these controllers are weird!" I didn't have a clue to what systems cost back then, but I assumed the INTV was cheaper since they got it instead of the Atari. It's always had a stigma for me since. Tonight, I was weak and gave in to the temptation of this: eBay Auction -- Item Number: 330395719843 What have I become? My sweetest friend... So-So to BIG 2600 Atari player (was my first game system) - Big Colecovision fan...NEVER thought I'd own one of those Intellivision systems... in 198? 5-6?ish time frame... Fast forward a few years and I walk into a local retro game store and the owner convinces me to buy (for $15) an intellivision system, 2 intellivision II systems, a keyboard, 2 'computer' systems, 10-15 boxed games and 5-10 loose games... I really thought about it for a while and then said 'what the hell...' (For a long time I thought I made a bad deal...) Fast forward to today and not so bad.... still HATE the controllers however... zylon #23 Posted January 25, 2010 I'd say you definitely got a good deal if it works ok. I'd recommend the Centipede for INTV. It is my favorite version.
