+Larry #1 Posted January 30, 2010 Anyone out there using a Win-TV PCI or PCI Express adapter as an S-video input device for their Atari? I've got an old one that only had composite input that I used with the XEP-80. It was fine, but I have no experience with their better adapters that have S-video inputs. One of these days fairly soon, I'll get a new motherboard/cpu and the current boards no longer come with AGP slots. So I can't use my (beloved) All-In-Wonder video card. Incidently, the new AIW cards have seem to have HDMI input only, so I think that's the end of the line for Atari use. I suspect the Win-TV will work well, but it would be good to hear a confirmation or two. -Larry
Rybags #2 Posted January 30, 2010 http://www.tv-cards.com/ Have a search around there, there'd surely be people reporting on such matters. If a given card works on a contemporary older machine like a console or C-64, TRS-80 CoCo etc, then it should be OK for the Atari.
Freshy #3 Posted January 30, 2010 I had one of the Hauppauge express cards for my then new laptop. The picture was OK, but it lagged the Atari by about 3 seconds. This made it unusable for games. Typing was also kind of odd due to the delay. I ended up bying an upconverter so I could use my Atari with an LCD. Ken

Syfo-Dyas #5 Posted January 31, 2010 All I have are a couple of external Video Capture Devices. I can say that playback is clean and on time through the capture software I use, but I've not had any luck finding software that will allow me to use these simply as full screen video input devices, if I do, I'll post back here as it may work with your hardware. As for my hardware, I'm using a Dazzle Digital Video Creator 150, which my favorite of the two, though I've never been impressed with Dazzle's budget products. The other capture device is a Convert X PX- M402U which is a great device, but it is not well supported in Windows. As for Win TV's, the last time I used one of those I remember taking it back to the store right away because of the horrid quality and pack in software, though that was a while ago, so who knows what their products are like now a days.
