IntellivisionDude
This post may be pointless but i'd like to hear your opinions anyway. I just purchased this Intellivision off Ebay last night and wondered if you think i got a good deal, especially price wise. It was untested but claimed the previous owner said it worked perfect. I took a big risk but hope it pays off. Seller "seems to be" honest. The reason i bought this, is because i have only owned an Intellivion II, never owned an Intellivion I. I keep hearing the controllers are better and the fact it will play those few Coleco games. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 200432100830
accousticguitar
If it works you got a good deal.
icbrkr
I've bought 4 'untested' INTVs from various places over the years.. all but 3 were broken :/ Either way, if it's $15 and it worked, that's a great deal.
zylon
If it works, you got a good deal for under $30 total. If not, at least you've got spare controllers for another.

IntellivisionDude
Got my Intellivision I today and it works. I am super happy. The controllers feel nice. Maybe they are better than the ones on the Intellivion II.
Ransom
I agree - the Intellivision I controllers are better than those on the II. If you get a chance, try the Sears model's controllers some time. I like them even better. Sometimes I wish I'd gone with the Sears brand stuff instead of the Mattel brand. Rev
i have intv 2,intv 1, and intv sears...and yes the sears one has the nicest controllers!
Cebus Capucinis
Tandyvision controllers are nothing to scoff at either IIRC...
zylon
I've had the sears ones. They work well when they do work. All 3 sears systems I've had the controllers didn't last a month. I've never had a problem with Intv 1 or 3 controls unless they were played to death. I'm not fond of Intv2 controls for games with a lot of side button use. Don't hate 'em, just a strong dislike. JacobZu7zu7
Not bad, I bet it still works. Ironic enough... the only two systems I bought working condition broke for no reason a few months later. I bought many "as is" Atari consoles cheap and they all worked but 1... and it was in a lot of 3, so not so bad. I usually go by how nice it looks in the picture, even so that's a risk. I bought once an Atari 2600 woody at a garage sale with 15 boxed games, and she said it worked... but when I tried it at home, the thing was beyond dead. I didn't worry about it because I made the money back selling the boxed games, and even a bit of profit.

Maybe they are better than the ones on the Intellivion II. Oh good it worked.. thought it would... sorry I was unaware the post was over a week old lol. Anyhow, there's plenty of feedback of Intel. I controllers being better then the II system... In your opinion, do you agree?? I like the look of the first system more, even if it's older looking. Mines gold and woodgrain, but there's also a Silver one too right?

Mines gold and woodgrain, but there's also a Silver one too right? To be honest with you, i haven't played my Intellivision I much since i got it to give the controllers a proper review. Since i also bought a Colecovision, Atari 7800, and a Nintendo DS within the last couple weeks i have too many games and not enough time. But my first impression with the controllers was they felt nice. I could tell i was pushing in the side buttons. The side buttons on the Intellivision II are just as responsive but don't normally push in when you press them. I could probably use either controller and be happy. But i wanted the Cadillac and to ride in style.
IntellivisionDude
Just thought of something else to add. Even though the Intellivision I controllers are better, one thing i like about the Intellivision II controllers is that i can use a Genesis Controller Extender on them and sit back and play. In the room my system is in, it sort of works better for me that way.

R.Cade
The problem with the Sears INTV unit is that it's butt-ugly. It's like a CPR-dummy beige and woodgrain that is horrible.
zylon
I'd agree with the description but do the controllers work on Intv2?
