mr_me
One strategy is only buy games you like. That way you are encouraging production of more games you like. Programmers are going to make games they want, not because people are buying them. Edited February 11, 2017 by mr_me
+intellivotion
A right, it was a Set from Alex and not Marc, sorry that I mixed it up! By the way: I recently bought Learning Fun I and Triple Challenge from the collection Rev is selling. Just one more game to go I'm waiting for a package from the West. I think my signature on AtariAge will soon be changed as well

Programmers are going to make games they want, not because people are buying them. I disagree- and the programmers here may agree or disagree at their will. How many programmers have created a tight limit of 40-50 because they didn't want to do the game? How many programmers have been asked to do a game, or a game topic, or a "Super Pro" series based on past successes?
scalpel
Thanks for the extremely well thought out replies. Unfortunately for me I fear there are only two choices - ignore homebrews in cart form altogether or go in whole hog and try to get them all for the collection. Once I buy that first one, I won't be happy until I have them all. That is what happened with the original 125. I was like "ok for $15 I can add Backgammon, even though I will never play it", then it was like "ok I can get that Sewer Sam for $20 even though it is unplayable and I already have one but not as nice" to finally "well I've gotten this far so why not bid $600 on Spiker loose on ebay and see if I get it" (I did). That was a tough one to explain to the wife. Problem is, once you come to grips dropping $600+ on Spiker, it seems reasonable to spend $50 on the CIB homebrew mine game that came free with Windows. You should try to get them all for collection and play
