Sounds good.  Thought I’d start here since it was Mattel.

While I have them I'm just not as knowledgeable about the 2600 stuff I must admit. They definitely have some demo and variant guys over there as well. Tempest is a big proto/demo guy isn't he? Maybe he could offer some insight?

Does anyone know if Mattel ever used this type of end label for M network games other than for demonstration carts?   I’m assuming that Mattel only released with the black & blue label and II picked up with a white label but different than this style.

Did you grab that Star Strike recently?

I nabbed my first FC sleeved game so down a new variant hole I go!  Does anyone have a list of titles that came sleeved?

Bill,

we are assuming the first 19 came sleeved. Congrats on the find. They are really hard to find.

did you get the French manual with it as well?

I did not unfortunately.  Only English.

On the plus side however it is minty mint.  Doesn’t look like it was ever even touched.

I did. I thought it looked odd for a Mattel release and after quite a bit of research, I’m fairly certain it was a demonstration cart like my other one in the picture above. It likely lost the information label over time.

I did not buy this.   It is still listed and way high at that.  It’s even missing the games themselves so not complete.  It’s in decent shape for one of these, but still overpriced.  I have a few of these already and didn’t pay anywhere close to that.

Here is the actual cart I was talking about in case anyone was interested.

Wow, what kind of person would think that is a rare variant just because of a sticker?  What if I put a sticker on the box or a cart, would that make it a variant?

Tee Hee!  Good thing I'm a decent runner.  Vroooooom!!!!!!!

Most recent Intellivision pickups.  Blue Space Armada Action Network variation and Pitfall patch.  Little by little getting closer to finishing Intellivision patches, but that Dreadnaught Destroyer may not happen.

Congrats!  Dreadnaught Factor and Trail Drive will probably never happen for me, but I'm glad I have the Astrosmash Shoot-off and M Network patches.  I'm still missing most of the Atari Activision big hitters.  They aren't getting any cheaper.

But on the other hand, I have 4 fingers and a thumb.  Things can work out. If you would like to make me a reasonable offer on any of these please do so.

That's the Dreadnaught Factor patch for the Atari 5200.  Here's the much rarer Intellivision version:

  • 2 weeks later...

Meant to say thanks to Humblejack for the hook-up to the Sears Roulette I've been searching for.  Got it a while ago from him and forgot to mention it.

He's helped me out with two major finds for a super fair price, can't say enough good about the guy.
