Inky #1 Posted February 3, 2010 What are the good Jag ems? Are there any still in active development? Where can I get the JAGBOOT.rom?
carmel_andrews #2 Posted February 3, 2010 (edited) try emu paradice/emu paradise or whatever it was called, i think they had a zip file with various atari bios's included various jag emu's exist but not very much happening with them and games tend to run slow, also, virtual jaguar does'nt work with any demo rom or pd game/rom it only seems to work with the dumped proper jaguar games emu's that exist are virtual jaguar, project tempest and m.e.s.s discontinued ones are jagulator (done by the same person that did the 1st n64 emu, ultra hle)and something called jade There again, you didn't state what platform you want the emu running on Just as well you posted this here and not on the jaguar section (good on you) Edited February 3, 2010 by carmel_andrews

Video #5 Posted February 3, 2010 There are several emulators, but the problems aren't going to be with your computer, it's just that the Jaguar is a pretty fugly piece of hardware, and not really popular, two things that work against it right now. Expect most games to run slow, or not at all, or at least to be missing effects. I love the Jaguar myself, but real hardware is really the only way to go at the moment. Austin #6 Posted February 4, 2010 (edited) The only games that you are going to find running properly and at full speed are the 2D games (as well as Tempest 2000). You're better off forgetting about even bothering with it, you'll end up feeling like you've wasted a night even trying. joshuarayborn #7 Posted March 7, 2010 Any chance one exists for wii?
ls650 #8 Posted March 7, 2010 No. Even the emulators for PC are rather mediocre; not much point in trying to port these over to another system...
joshuarayborn #9 Posted March 8, 2010 No. Even the emulators for PC are rather mediocre; not much point in trying to port these over to another system... That sucks because there is a good nintendo 64 emulator for wii
goldenegg #10 Posted March 29, 2010 Virtual Jaguar is the only project I know that's in active development. They're in the process of finalizing a major re-write of code. The developers have promised an announcement on their site once complete, then they will release a build and start working on optimizations. Their main site can be found here: http://icculus.org/virtualjaguar/ You can keep track of the latest updates on the forum linked on the site.
ls650 #11 Posted March 29, 2010 They haven't updated their web page since October 2008. Shamus does still seem to be working on it (he just posted in that forum last week) so I am hopeful we will see a major update... someday.

Shamus does still seem to be working on it (he just posted in that forum last week) so I am hopeful we will see a major update... someday. I've been following the code updates closely. There has been a lot of work going on. I'd expect to see a proper update before the end of the year.
