Zoyx
Anyone looking into modding a 2600 so the only exposed slot is for the Harmony's SD card? Possible to do with a Flashback?
RevEng
Unfortunately the FB2 can't run the Harmony menu software due to some missing illegal opcodes. Too bad, as they'd make a nice match.
tkarner
Maybe Ben Heck can incorporate a Harmony cartridge into his next portable...
RevEng
Well, in a similar vein the Longhorn Engineer is planning to integrate a Harmony cart in one of his prototype Project Unity portables.
Zoyx
Those hacks are cool, but you are stuck using their onboard controllers on a tiny screen. Plus their projects are a bit beyond my skill level. So to start, need to take the Harmony apart so you only have the board. Then redo the cartridge slot on your 2600, so the harmony board will lie flat. Solder the Harmony permanently into the interface. Then redo the 2600 enclosure case so the Harmony board is hidden except for the SD slot. Preferably do this with a junior to keep things small. It's not due to illegal opcodes, but because of the way it handles write instructions. However, the FB2 doesn't work with some batari Basic games due to illegal opcodes. Also, it's too soon to say it can't run, as it may indeed be possible, we just need to figure out how.
RevEng
Ah, I stand corrected. Glad to hear that it may work someday!
