VBXE fx

As my VBXE is broken...can someone test this little fx on real VBXE if it works? thx... this is basic for an fx of Gridrunner VBXE enhanced...

Lots of letter B looking things in a worm trail, in narrow screen mode.

 

Background looks like it's just alternating between a couple of screens of random data.

VBXE on real hardware has random contents in it's RAM when the machine's powered up.

 

Maybe it's worth implementing something like that in Altirra - might be helpful for programmers to remember to clear their workspace first.

Heh... yeah, I got burnt by this too. :)

 

Here's a version of Altirra that fills memory with junk on cold reset:

The pseudorandom fill seed is constant in this version; I couldn't decide whether a varying the seed was a good idea or not. On one hand, varying the seed would expose more problems where programs are relying on uninitialized memory. On the other hand, keeping the seed constant keeps the deterministic nature of the emulator's cold reset.
