Pioneer4x4 #1 Posted February 8, 2010 (edited) This is one of my rarer 2600 carts. Normally, I would make a label to replace a missing one, not a bad one. This one is pretty bad, should I leave it alone? Does anyone have a hi-res scan of the actual label? I have a kodak printer dock that prints digital photo prints by transfer and it puts a protective layer over the print making it very durable and waterproof. I might try using it for some labels I need. The scans on AtariAge are great for looking for information, but not detailed enough for printing. http://www.mobygames.com/game/miner-2049er/cover-art/gameCoverId,19737/ Is the best I've found so far. +save2600 #2 Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) Isn't it funny how some of the rarest games end up being all hacked up sometimes Some might justifiably argue, but I'd replace that puppy if it were mine. I have a Crazy Climber cart that had a similar conundrum. Ended up making my own end AND top label. I did a great job, but not being totally satisfied, I asked Shawn Sr. to give me a hand - which he gracefully did. He also had a great idea, so as not to deceive anyone in the future... he put the words: "repro labels for original Atari PCB and shell" or something to that effect in small printer underneath the artwork. Looks better than my homemade attempt anyway! Edited February 9, 2010 by save2600
cybercylon #3 Posted February 9, 2010 Same here. There are arguments for and against that are justifiable, but I would probably replace that one myself. There are some commons and semi-rare ones that I would like to do that to, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
+Mitch #4 Posted February 9, 2010 If you ever decide to sell it a non-original label will hurt it's value. Mitch
phaxda #5 Posted February 9, 2010 Honestly, I would leave it as-is. Also, I am looking for a copy of this game if anyone has one!
Pioneer4x4 #6 Posted February 9, 2010 Figures, both arguments. I guess if I plan to sell, I should leave it up to the purchaser. Since I just got a Harmony, I won't be handling it or looking at it much, so I might just leave it. maybe I'll make a new one and neatly tape it over the original. Also the end label is split at the seam, so I need to test it to confirm that it is legit, no shenanigans.

I tested it out today, worked fine on my 2600 Jr.
