LinkoVitch #26 Posted November 4, 2002 And as the language is ENGLISH, and I live in ENGLAND the inventor of said language, I think we have it right over here (and Canada do too ) Oh, BTW thats not how you prounounce aluminium :) Back on topic I think if the projection TV has a phosphor coating on the inside of the screen to improve picture or something then playing games or any form of bright static image could damage the phosphor coating, and leave burn in. Same as with TV's.. not sure how much effect it has on modern technology, I would ask the manufacturer to get the 100% answer, drop their website an email or something. Cassidy Nolen #28 Posted November 4, 2002 I have a Panasonic 51 inch that regularly sees the Atari 2600 hooked to it. I have been using it on that tv for about 3 years, with no ill effects whatsoever. Warlords, Pitfall, Fishing Derby, Combat, Kaboom,, etc. All very stationary colors, but I do not leave it on for more that probably an hour at a time. No problems. I did wonder about the new set which is an HDTV (57 inch projection), so I am reserving it for the Gamecube only (now the 51 inch is solely for video games...... ) HTH, Cassidy If you are really concerned, just turn down the brightness, or use the "movie" setting for colors. Lumpbucket #29 Posted November 4, 2002 Its colour, honour, and armour. Aluminium is pronounced how it is spelt (not aloominum), and chips aren't crispy! Anyway... back on topic... ummm... forget big TVs, get a projector. If you get an image burnt into your wall (which won't happen unless you have some very odd wallpaper ), point the projector at a different one!
Ben_Larson #30 Posted November 4, 2002 Aluminium is pronounced how it is spelt (not aloominum) Actually it's spelled 'aluminum' in America...so it is pronounced how it's spelled. http://www.dictionary.com/search?q=aluminum Ben
LinkoVitch #31 Posted November 4, 2002 Ben : OK:) Lumpbucket: So you mean I should stop using photographic paper as wall paper then? Could also be cause by having the brightness way up on the projector, you can tell this when you turn it on and anything directly infront of it melts or combusts, also if you need sun block and shades to watch TV on it
