Devbinks #1 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) Hey, all. Got my Jaguar in the mail today, as I posted earlier, but instead of six games, there were seven! They threw in NBA Jam for free I remember playing that game all the time on my Genesis lol So, anyhow, I was just curious as to how much a loose NBA Jam cart goes for. I was thinking of selling it (along with a couple other Jaguar games) to help pay for sending my Jaguar system into Best Electronics to get it's cartridge connector replaced. Thanks! Austin #2 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) Probably not much for a loose copy. I saw some brand-new copies on eBay a little while ago for $15 + shipping.. It didn't seem like they were selling, so that should put it into perspective. You're probably better off just keeping it, it is a decent game afterall. Devbinks #3 Posted February 11, 2010 Ahh, okay. Thanks for the info Guess I'll stick to selling Wolfenstein and Missile Command 3D lol
+save2600 #4 Posted February 11, 2010 NBA Jam prices sure seem to fluctuate for the Jag. Yes, I too saw the $15 NIB on ePay not going anywhere (Jag owners bought 'em all way back when), but usually - these used to hover around the $30 mark. Still, considering there's a bunch sitting around now, I'd say a loose cart might be worth $5-$8. I'd just keep it if I was the OP. One of the BEST games for the system... The_Laird #5 Posted February 11, 2010 Ahh, okay. Thanks for the info Guess I'll stick to selling Wolfenstein and Missile Command 3D lol MC3D is the best game on the machine so I would keep it. Dosn't sell for much anyway its pretty common.
+save2600 #6 Posted February 11, 2010 Agreed. Why are you wanting to sell the better games for the system? If you do, you'll probably end up getting rid of the entire system sooner than later...
Jack_Quinn_UK #7 Posted February 11, 2010 Keep it! NBA Jam TE on Jag is a 100% wick game.
avanteproject #8 Posted February 11, 2010 Ahh, okay. Thanks for the info Guess I'll stick to selling Wolfenstein and Missile Command 3D lol How can you sell Wolfenstein?!
Devbinks #9 Posted February 11, 2010 (edited) Okay, guys! Holy cow lol I'm not going to be selling any of my games. As you've all pointed out, it's not really worth it. However, I am going to be trading them for other Jaguar carts I'd rather have. I know games like MC3D and NBA Jam are widely considered to be some of the best Jaguar games out there, but it is really worth it for me to keep them when they don't interest me? I mean, aren't there any games out there that "everyone" seems to love but, for what ever reason, they just doesn't appeal to you? As far as Jaguar games go, the main ones that I'd get use out of are Doom, Rayman, and Tempest 2000 So, if anyone is interested, I put the games up for trade in a topic called "Jaguar Trades!" in the Marketplace. Austin #10 Posted February 12, 2010 Question: Did you actually play them?
Devbinks #11 Posted February 12, 2010 (edited) Yeah. Plus, I gave all of them another shot today. I've clocked in at LEAST an hour in each game, aside from Ruiner. NBA Jam, I used to play for hours upon hours as a kid, so I know it's a really good game. I'm just not into sports games anymore. Haven't been into them since.. actually, since NBA Jam! As far as Missile Command 3D goes, it seems very well designed, but shooting at bombs isn't satisfying to me. I need to be shooting at hoards of enemy vehicles or living things. Wolfenstein is a great game. I'm only giving that one up if it's in a trade for Doom, which is a game that I manage to get even more enjoyment out of. Cybermorph I used to like, but now it just seems rather dull and uninspired. Ruiner I don't like at all. I'm not a fan of virtual pinball, period. I need the real deal if I'm going to play pinball lol Raiden is awesome. Again, it's a game I'd only give up for Doom. Alien vs Predator I am never giving up. Ever. Never, ever. It's the main reason I own a Jaguar lol So, yeah. I'm not trading them because I think they're horrible. They're just not all my style of game. Hope that clears up some stuff Edited February 12, 2010 by Devbinks
+save2600 #12 Posted February 12, 2010 Sorry devbinks! It did look as if we were projecting our tastes on to you... lol Doom is great on the Jag, that's for sure. Hopefully someone will be up for a trade so you can get your fix. There's been a thread or two that talk about how some of us feel about the different Jag games that might be of interest when you get a chance.
Devbinks #13 Posted February 12, 2010 Haha No problem XD That thread does sound interesting. Would it be possible for a link? If not, maybe you could tell me what to search for and I could probably find it Thanks!
+save2600 #14 Posted February 12, 2010 One I was thinking of is one that you started! lol http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/157638-first-impressions/ ...there's been a couple others recently that basically just have some of us explaining what we liked and disliked about a particular game... Devbinks #15 Posted February 12, 2010 LMFAO! Yeah, I'll have to do some searching on here and see if I can't find some of the other ones. Thanks again though

Crude Dude #17 Posted February 17, 2010 A little off topic I know but Jag is hands down best console ever! Apart from 360... How can it be the best hands down if something is better lol. On a more relevent note the jag is very good not the best ever tho. The 360 on the other hand..... no it is the most unreliable console ever mine has broken three times under normal use . That alone makes a ps3 the better console as well as most classic systems. it would be as good as a ps3 if it wasnt so unreliable.

Nope the red ring isnt the only thing wrong with it they are just badly made compaired to other consoles, mine even had a loose rattle new out of the box. And jasper didnt solve the problem it just made it less likely it is still the most common way for it to break.
DracIsBack #20 Posted February 20, 2010 MC3D is the best game on the machine so I would keep it. In your opinion!

Pete5125 #22 Posted March 5, 2010 360 is a good system for gaming but it is also made like crap. If you start talking about red rings of Death then out of the people I know or work with including myself, I know about 10 people that own a 360, 6 of these people had to either replace their system with a new one, trade repair with Microsoft, or buy cooler systems for the 360. The big problem is that Microsoft did not put a good enouth cooling system on the 360, and since they are just basicaly computers aimed at gaming, they overheat. I'm told the early PS3 were made just as crapy, 360 owners normaly feel that 3 years is a good life for a system, Im like my Jag CD is still going strong after 15 or so years(well you do have to sometimes play w/ it to get it going). My PS3 died a couple of months back... overheated. My 360 also runs extremely hot all the time, so that will be next I'm sure. My gaming laptop also performs thermal shutdown quite often because of the heat put out in that crammed internal space. So as these things are frying themselves, I'll walk back over to my Jag or 7800 and just enjoy simple worry free gaming again!
