Pioneer4x4 #1 Posted February 11, 2010 I already have a Jr, a 7800, a 4 switch woody and a vader. I mainly want a 6 switch for phasor patrol, and the look of it. But for $20 with non-original PS, 2 so-so joysticks and set of paddles, nothing else, I'm not sure I want it that bad. Apparently there is a shop near me that has some stuff like that. I need to check it out.
accousticguitar #2 Posted February 12, 2010 That's a fair price if it's in good working condition.
shadow460 #3 Posted February 12, 2010 (edited) Phaser Patrol will run fine on the Woody and the Vader, or you can wire a toggle switch across the 7800's pause switch to give that system the TV Type "capability". That said, I think even a bare light sixer with no hookups or controllers is worth about $20 if it's in good shape. EDIT: Want my honest advice? Save your money and buy a heavy sixer. I looked at the picture a little better, and I think it is a heavy! I know they run fine, but it is a pain toggeling the difficulty in the rear, and I hate not being able to see them! The edges look like a heavy right?

yuppicide #6 Posted February 12, 2010 Def worth $20. I paid $40 for my light sixer with 1 brand new joystick, atari power supply, and an RF to Coax adapter

The edges look like a heavy right? It's hard for me to see in that photo. The plastic that goes underneath the woodgrain there on the front is kind of bowed on a heavy. I can't describe it, though. Once you've seen a Heavy Sixer in person, either Atari or Sears, you'll know them instantly when you see them thereafter. Well, OK most of the time you will know them. tetrode kink #8 Posted February 12, 2010 Yeah, that's a heavy, no doubt. It has the very slight bowl shape along the bottom of the woodgrain panel, and the black plastic along the top side edges doesn't "wrap" around to the front before ending at the woodgrain panel like on a light. Shadow's right, once you get to know the "signs," you'll ID a light or a heavy in your sleep. IMHO, $20 isn't bad despite the case being a little dinged. -tet
Pioneer4x4 #9 Posted February 12, 2010 The funny thing is, the ad states $40, but in the text it said $20. They guy said it should be $40, but will meet me ½ way, so it is $30. He has other stuff, so I'll take a look. Once I break the $20 mark of a yuppie food stamp, I think differently.

I saw this on craigslist and felt $40 was a total rip-off. Edited February 12, 2010 by vb_master

I saw this on craigslist and felt $40 was a total rip-off. Yep, I picked it up. I got it, and 4 carts I didn't have for $35 total. He seemed like a nice guy, little second hand shop with a bunch of video game stuff in the back. Mainly a bunch of cool stuff but nothing that jumped out at me that I just had to have. It seems in nice shape. I'll clean it up and test it. It is a heavy sixer, no channel switch, label is MFG. BY ATARI INC., SUNNYVALE, CA. MADE IN TAIWAN S.N. T 0024129 C010922 The carts I picked up were. U.S. Games M.A.D. in real nice shape Sears Text Race (I have Indy 500) Sears Text Dodger Cars missing end label (I didn't have Dodge 'Em either) Sears Text Night Driver missing end label
Benzman66 #12 Posted February 13, 2010 You think $40 is bad. What about the folks paying $75-$260 on EBay, and there are quite a few buying them at those prices. I always sit and shake my head, WHY? WHY?

Pioneer4x4 #14 Posted February 13, 2010 I was glad to just get a 6 switch. I'll probably hack it up (not aesthetically, just some improvements like jack for output signal instead of permanent wire, pause, maybe A/V mod) I didn't know what the sears carts would be with the missing end label, he thought they were football and baseball I think. I knew one wasn't because of the "Timed Games and Untimed Games". Either way, I knew I didn't have them in sears what ever they were. The worst thing was HOLY CRAP was Mt. Washington (Part of Pittsburgh, PA) crippled with the snow! All those narrow streets with parked cars. I almost bailed with no where to park.
