Kjmann #1 Posted February 13, 2010 (edited) I was Considering making this a future Project for Atlantis Games Group. What do you all think? Here's what I have done so far for the soundtrack. As always Comments are welcome. =) Edited February 13, 2010 by kjmann
Syfo-Dyas #2 Posted February 13, 2010 (edited) That track is VERY fitting!!! What program are you writing the tunes in, and what is the player you used for this boot disk, etc.? Edited February 13, 2010 by Syfo-Dyas
Kjmann #3 Posted February 13, 2010 That track is VERY fitting!!! What program are you writing the tunes in, and what is the player you used for this boot disk, etc.? I use RMT to make the songs. RMT Has an Option to export into an XEX file.

Kjmann #5 Posted February 13, 2010 It's a good game... but... is there a short-list of games you are considering Not Really. we just look into doing games that we like and we think that others would like too. =)
StaxX28 #6 Posted February 13, 2010 Yes, Pacmania would be great !
redman #7 Posted February 13, 2010 Hello, I think that there's plenty of Pacman games around. How about doing Galaga? Thanks. Redman
José Pereira #8 Posted February 13, 2010 Great, great. That one is on my list of G2F tries (like many others...). I remember at the begining PolePosition and PacMan were symbols of Atari here in Portugal. The Spectrum friens doesn't have that games. It was a shame that this doesn't come out on A8 (and PacLand from Harlequin never sees the daylight!...). What more goodies will come? But don't forget finishing OutRun! O.K.? Thanks and greetings. José Pereira.
Syfo-Dyas #9 Posted February 13, 2010 PacLand, now that was a fun game! Ever consider the long lost Donkey Kong 2?
snicklin #10 Posted February 14, 2010 PacMania would be an excellent addition to the Atari 8 bit line of software. Other (top) games that'd be good on the Atari aswell (just for ideas) are: Operation Wolf (joystick operated, not that many of use CRT TV's anymore) Operation Thunderbolt (as above) Toki! (Based on the C64 version?) Worms and probably many more top games missing from the Atari line.

José Pereira #17 Posted February 14, 2010 Just checked in MAME. Possibly a game that would look good in 480i mode. Hi, Rybags. Could you post just a simple screen? Thanks. Jose Pereira.
snicklin #18 Posted February 14, 2010 Operation Blood is an Awesome Game. Very Cool Indeed. Also the Light Gun Version is Killer. =) I'd never played Operation Wolf before so I didn't realise that Operation Blood was such a good copy, I thought that there were quite major differences. I've just played the C64 OW and realised how similar that they are. If anyone remembers Derek Fern from Microdiscount, according to him, I was the first person to complete the game that he knew of. He thought that there was some ending sequence but all it says is something like "Gratalacja!".
+CharlieChaplin #19 Posted February 14, 2010 Well, on my wishlist of conversions (or clones) for the A8 are: - Rick Dangerous - R-Type - Sonic - Super Mario Bros - f1-race for many players simultan. and in real-time (a la Checkered Flag on the Lynx) - a better + faster Battlezone version (with more options, various tanks and collectable items like the vector-version on the Lynx; maybe also a multilink/networking version where one has to fight all other players) - some kind of Blue Lightning/Afterburner version - Summer Games 2 / World Games / ... - Prince of Persia (part one) - Alien Brigade (lightgun version) But please no more versions or clones of: - Pong - Breakout - Pacman - Boulder Dash - Tetris since we already have enough of them on the A8. So my answer to Pacmania is "No". Greetings, Andreas Koch.
Rybags #20 Posted February 14, 2010 Thinking about it some more 5 minutes after posting and going to bed... this game in fact would work best in 640x240 mode. aka VBXE. I have to agree that it might well be "yet another Pac game", but if it was done for VBXE it'd be a good showcase for it's capabilities. In fact, it might even be able to be done "cheaply"... just take existing Pac/Ms Pac/Jr or whatever, and use the existing core program and just redo the screen rendering. Syfo-Dyas #22 Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) Something for the VBXE would indeed be a nice treat, that would make PacMania actually look like the Arcade version more so than the NES or an Atari 8-Bit version ever could. Though, I do agree with Andreas that a Super Mario Bros. clone would be a nice addition. In fact it would be a GREAT addition considering that the only ones we have (that I'm aware of) is Crownland and Bros. Bros. has horrible controls, and Crownland is more of a demo than a playable game due to all the slow downs and flickering (or does more RAM fix that?). Of course a Super Mario Bros. type game would be easy if done for the VBXE, or if a simplistic Super Mario Land approach was taken, it should run fine on the 8-bit without upgrads.... If we do It, I doubt We would do a VBXE version. Not enough VBXE's out there. we have ways of making a standard atari game look pretty Damn good though. =) Crownland doesn't flicker When Run in PAL Mode. NTSC is what Screws it up. Syfo-Dyas #24 Posted February 15, 2010 Another reminder as to why I should NEVER buy another NTSC Atari EVER. Now you got me dreaming of Giana Sister on the Atari.
