iswitt
Found this on yahoo's news feed. Turns out someone on eBay had a copy of Stadium Events complete with box and such and didn't realize it was so valuable. http://videogames.yahoo.com/events/plugged-in/old-nintendo-system-sells-for-13-105/1389101
Wickeycolumbus
It's hard to believe a video game can be worth that much. By the way... http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/158102-the-13105-nes-auction-yesterday/ http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/158079-nes-goes-for-over-1300000/ http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/158131-game-over-atari-2600-collecting-will-never-be-more-popular-than-the-nes/ I think there may be a few others
+save2600
What disturbs me about the headline is how it leads you to believe the system itself is worth big bucks. Only reading into the article, do you realize it was the cartridge they were after. With so much misinformation, poor grammar and general misuse of the english language, hard to believe a lot of these media types made it through college. -edit- ...guess it was the 'box' that drove the value? $10k for the box and $3k for the cart. I always knew something was a little "off" about the Nintendo generation... j/k Edited February 16, 2010 by save2600

Chris Leach
This whole Bandai Stadium Events just needs to die now so we can all move on from it. I think we should block all stadium events postings....

Some serious counseling is in order for some of us
Mirage
...guess it was the 'box' that drove the value? $10k for the box and $3k for the cart. I always knew something was a little "off" about the Nintendo generation... j/k I don't know how that can be, because as I understand it, the box is the same for the PAL version... (?) That one is uncommon, but not nearly as rare. Maybe there is a sticker unique to NTSC version on the box? I know very little about NES at all, but that's what I read this morning. (Please someone who knows NES correct or clarify this).

Yeah, I don't see too many either, but I've found several in the wild even (extreme commons though).
Taskmaster99
I dont remember this game at all. Hence the rarity....lol. I did look at the Holy Grails of Console gaming list and it sits there at number 6. Interesting. On another note....I never realized my Metal Slug for the Neo Geo AES was at number 10.......huh.
