Tempest #1 Posted February 20, 2010 I know someone locally who has a DK 3 cabinet that he's willing sell cheap, but it either needs a new monitor or the monitor needs repair (he wasn't clear on that). The cabinet is in good shape, but the side art isn't all there. What's it worth? Tempest
Crazy Climber #2 Posted February 20, 2010 Not much Donkey Kong 3 seems to be the least desirable of the series. I have seen 100% working ones go for $300 or less. Nintendo monitors are also expensive and I have heard they are harder to work on. Missing side art is not helping the value. One like this I would say you have to look at the value of the parts you are getting... Donkey Kong 3 Marquee - $5 Donkey Kong 3 control panel (assuming it is in good shape) - $15 Donkey Kong 3 board set - $40 Cabinet with all other misc parts - $40? (assuming everything is still there) The plus side, although you probably already know, is that you can play other Nintendo PCB's in it and the monitors are also easily rotatable for Mario Bros and Popeye. Coin op prices are way low lately so I wouldn't pay too much for this one unless you really want it.
Tempest #3 Posted February 20, 2010 Yeah that's what I figured. Next time I'm out there I may ask what he wants for it and see. I always liked DK 3 personally but you just can't play it for hours like DK or DKjr, it gets too annoying too fast. Tempest
Crazy Climber #4 Posted February 20, 2010 If it was me personally I would say you can't go wrong with a $75 offer, you shouldn't lose money at least.
