JacobZu7zu7
Being new to the Intellivision... I dunno how to select a different game level or setting of difficulty... so my question is simple, how do I switch between easy and hard modes? Must be on the keypad? I haven't found anything in the game manuals... any help is appreciated, thanks.

Those that do usually use the keypad 1 for easiest, usually 3 for hard. Some games you can just press the disc and it's also set to hard or even a level harder than 3. Rev
I was going to say it depends on the game as well.
JayWI
Must be on the keypad? I haven't found anything in the game manuals... Which games btw? I know there's some online manuals plus I'm sure with everyone here we probably have every manual for every game.

Welll for example Astrosmash... played it for about 45 mins or something and, feel on the default setting it was too easy. Whereas Poker Blackjack, I cannot figure out how to select just 1 player game.

NightSprinter
Yeah, generally it goes in this order: 3=Easiest, 2=Normal, 1=Hard, All Other Buttons/Keys+Disc=Hardest. A prime example is AD&D: Cloudy Mountain. The base of the titular location changes color according to difficulty (Gray for easiest, purple for hardest.). cparsley
Depends... if it's a Mattel release, its Disc=Hardest, 1=Hard, 2=Easy 3=Easiest If it's a Parker Bros/Coleco release, its done via a menu before the game, as they bypass the startup screen. Most of the time, especially on the Mattel releases, the "difficulty" only changed the speed at which the game was played, not the enemies skill level. Yeah, though usually that increase of speed is what makes it harder.
JacobZu7zu7
Thanks guys. I got it all figured out now. Astrosmash, Poker, and the like, got me a little confused, but I get it now. The other CIB games I received helped me learn about difficulty settings like, Tron Discs, Night Stalker, and these forum repiles.

There's no "difficulty". Just a variety of casino card games with the option to replay, bet, double-down, etc.
chrisbid
to start a game in poker and blackjack, both players are required to key in a 'wallet' amount. this is how much money you will gamble with (0-9999). if you do not want a second player, you have to use controller 2 to key in 0 for the second players wallet. Actually just press ENTER, you dont need to key in anything on player 2 if u want to go solo vs the "shifty eyed" dealer.
