Koopa64 #1 Posted February 25, 2010 I picked this controller up a while ago because I thought it might be useful one day. Here's some pics of the subject in question: If you can't tell from the pics, the controller has a DB-15 plug. There's only two consoles I know of that use this plug, those being the Atari 5200 and NEO-GEO. Does anybody know what console this goes with? If not, what console could this work with? BigO #2 Posted February 25, 2010 Isn't that for a PC?
Koopa64 #3 Posted February 25, 2010 Quite possibly, but I was hoping maybe a home console could use it too.
Lendorien #4 Posted February 26, 2010 I can confirm that the gamepad in question is a PC gamepad. It uses the old style game connector. Used to be that you would find the gameport on your soundcard. This sort of connection is obsolete now that we have USB. I don't think any game systems used that sort of joystick port, so unless you have an old PC laying around for retro gaming, it's likely just a paperweight. Koopa64 #5 Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) ^The Atari 5200 and NEO-GEO use DB-15 as I said in the first post. Also, if I wanted to there might be a Game port on my main PC's motherboard. I'd have to check. If it does I still have a Game port adapter kicking around. I have other Game port controllers too which have a few more buttons (including a 6 face button controller. Good for Genesis emulation). Edited February 26, 2010 by Koopa64
NightSprinter #6 Posted February 26, 2010 It's definitely an old PC 2-button gamepad. Made by Dexxa, if I remember it correctly. Depending on the comfort level it could work really well with an old computer and games like OMF 2097.
BigO #7 Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) ^The Atari 5200 and NEO-GEO use DB-15 as I said in the first post. The pictured cable end is the wrong gender for 5200. Edited February 26, 2010 by BigO
Koopa64 #8 Posted February 26, 2010 ... Oh right, I forgot about that. :S
Hatta #9 Posted February 26, 2010 I have one of those, but it's wireless. Has a little IR dongle somewhere. I used to play a ton of Nesticle with that thing.
Nukey Shay #10 Posted February 26, 2010 Dongle. Uh hu-hu-huh. Heh heh. Nesticle dangle. Shut up, you retard.
