NovaXpress #3 Posted February 26, 2010 I don't remember the last time that I didn't score 999,999 on Megamania. The big trick to maxing out points is right in the manual. Be sure to check out Steve Cartwright's tips if you haven't yet.

Be sure to check out Steve Cartwright's tips if you haven't yet. Megamania is one of the games I dont have the manual for. A lot of the games I had over the years I would replace my double with the nicer or boxed copies that came in lots, but for some of the very special games to me, that me and my dad used to play when I was a kid are the originals. My copy of Megamania looks pretty beat up. Are Harmony carts still being sold? I wouldn't half mind having one of those..
Christophero Sly #5 Posted March 2, 2010 Megamania is such an awesome game!

Cliff Friedel #7 Posted March 2, 2010 Are Harmony carts still being sold? I wouldn't half mind having one of those.. Yes, the Harmony cart is still available. Chris I would highly recommend the Harmony Cart. Nice to use for ROMs and is great if you are doing homebrews. If you can, get the deluxe model. It is $75 plus shipping, but gives you the USB cable, the SD card, and a bunch of software. You also get faster shipping. Definitely worth it.

When you max out your extra lives, kill all the enemies except for one, let that one enemy shoot and kill you. Then with your next ship, shoot him right away and you will achieve the entire time bar for bonus which will usually give you enough points to get the ship back that you sacrificed. If you play it enough, you can max it out without doing this trick. I heard there is a hack available where the score does not stop at 999,999, I would love that one on cart so I could do a MegaMarithon!
Zoyx #9 Posted March 3, 2010 My high score was 158,130 when Magamania came around on HSC. I should make another run at flipping it.
VectorGamer #10 Posted March 3, 2010 Right now on Twin Galaxies there are nine people that scored 999,999. 151,000 would have been good for 10th place.
Zoyx #11 Posted March 3, 2010 Rolling it isn't a rare occurrence. Still an accomplishment worthy of great praise. Five folks rolled it the last time it came up on HSC.
