Parental Consent EA games online WTF?!?

What kinda of crack is EA smoking? You can't access EA online without a gold account. If you do have a Gold account you cannot access EA online if under the age of 13. I already paid for the gold subscription and created the account for my son. I can understand for mature rated games, but the EA sports series? I find it hilarious that he can go online and play games like Rainbow Six Vegas and Halo, but not an EA sports title...

 

They say there is a consent form available but I've yet to see anything anywhere to indicate such form exists... I'm surprised there isn't some kinda of class action lawsuit for them claiming something that doesn't exist is actually available.

They're doing it due to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. It's a CYA move.

What they said, it's not like they can actually check the age or anything. Hell, the kids probably just hit "OK" like we did when we were kids.....oh yeah, we didn't have that dumbass age shit when I was young (hell, I could buy beers and Cigarettes for that matter with no problems....damn, times have changed)
