How common is the Atari Game Library cart holder?

Recommended Posts

I recently picked up a boxed one at the Salvation Army. I had never come across one before. I paid maybe a little more for it than I thought I should (I'm a cheapskate) but I'm still pretty happy since it came with 3 games I needed and several manuals, also a postcard to send to M-Network for a free decal.

I realize they're probably not terribly rare, I'd just never come across one before.

I was wondering how often other people see them around.

In the last 3 years, I have probably only seen about 6 boxed ones so I guess it's not a bad find. I have seen many many without the box though, often in pretty bad shape.

i have two of these and not much use for them. they make 8 carts take up the space of 16. perhaps if i had a giant room i could have 50 or so of them locked together and then my whole collection would be a button push away, until then they act as dust catchers. they're about as rare as a pitfall II cart but not nearly as fun, unless you fill it with combats and hammer the buttons to launch them at your friends.

Thats a whole new look on combat I hadn't thought of! :)

Hammering on them to launch games, eh? Perhaps that's why CPUWIZ has seen so many in bad shape.

Wow, I've never seen a cart holder like that. I've seen the book-like holders, and the regular cart holders, but never one with the select button thing. That's a pretty cool find, Candiru.

I bought one of those for $4 over the summer, and they are cool!If I ever saw another one I would buy it in less than a secong.

As for how rare they are,I am guessing not too rare, but it is a cool item to have! :D :ponder: :)
