Pioneer4x4 #1 Posted March 3, 2010 I saw a guy that had one, I forget how much, maybe $40 or so. http://www.atariage.com/2600/systems/sys_SearsVideoArcade2.jpg Is there any reason to pick it up? I already have a Jr, a 4 switch woody and vader, a heavy 6, and a 7800. He also had a suitcase of carts, but the only one I noticed I didn't have was Racquetball, and maybe some sears. $2 each, nothing jumped out at me worth getting. Zoyx #2 Posted March 3, 2010 It has indicator LEDs. The controller ports are in front. Unique paddle/joystick controllers. Because of the unique controllers, it has joystick/paddle select buttons on the console. It is a nice addition to your collection. These extra elements don't really add much to the value. Does the $40 include the suitcase of games and the original controllers? If that's the case, then it may be priced right.
Chris Leach #3 Posted March 3, 2010 I had just picked up my first Craig'slist purchase. A nice looking Sears Arcade II in box for $15...but I dorve an hour to pick it up>? If you already have an Atari..the Sears doesn't do anything special for me....Just cool cause the one I had bought had a box for it....
BigO #4 Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) I thought it was really cool when I first saw it so I bought it. I liked the idea of the controller ports up front and the LED's and the overall look. In the end I went "meh" and sold it for what I paid for it. Note: I did not have the original controllers. Maybe that would add to the experience? Pioneer4x4 #5 Posted March 3, 2010 I believe it had original controllers. I remember not being impressed with the feel. No the suicase of commons were $2 each. The Sears unit was pretty dingy, maybe it would cleanup OK. It would be an alternative to the Jr. I mainly use I guess. I think I'll leave it. It was at least 30 min away. tz101 #8 Posted March 4, 2010 Tele-Games Video Arcade II is awesome. I got mine for free, found it in a shed and they were going to throw it away. Only thing is I didn't get the stick/paddle combo controllers. Cool thing is it has four controller ports, but I have not seen a game that takes 4 players for joysticks. cashcow06 #9 Posted March 4, 2010 The video arcade II is my favorite Atari console. I hate switching controllers and the duel controllers solve this problem. It also provides easy access to all the buttons which are used in certain games(Select/Reset-Quest for Quintanaroo) for example.
Taskmaster99 #10 Posted March 4, 2010 I bought one just for the hell of it. It was at a good price at Atari 2600.com. Kinda nice to have joysticks and paddles in one.
A.J. Franzman #11 Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) Cool thing is it has four controller ports, but I have not seen a game that takes 4 players for joysticks. There aren't any. The extra ports are only there to allow you to play 4-player paddle games using the style of controllers that came with the console. Edited March 5, 2010 by A.J. Shquata #12 Posted March 5, 2010 I bought one just for the hell of it. It was at a good price at Atari 2600.com. Kinda nice to have joysticks and paddles in one. Old Guys 2 cents ....Heck , if it's a model you don't have yet or it's in better condition than the one you have and the price is ok ( everyones different on this point) , add it. I have said it before , it's a hobby and we ALL have paid high and at other times gotten great deals. We all like to say , I got mine for only ....... , and such , but if it feels right and it's ok condition / price for your collection and you can afford it , heck This is what we do ! Collect ! Ok , back to the home for me ! Tom "can I get extra credit for AARP membership" the old Guy
Pioneer4x4 #13 Posted March 5, 2010 I'll take another look if I go out that way again. I'm pretty sure it's not going anywhere. I did't notice the extra ports. Heck if I get it, I will want 4 controllers for Party games!

Pioneer4x4 #15 Posted March 5, 2010 Video Arcade II joystick new in box - $13. Well that sucks, now there is no reason NOT to buy it, other than $$.
Lord Thag #16 Posted March 6, 2010 I have one with four controllers. It's a sexy unit, and having the joystick/paddle combination is great. They joysticks do suffer from the same design flaw as the 7800 'Painline' controllers though. Games that require lots of button mashing are best played with a Wico. Great unit.
