sometimes99er
Okay, so you woke up this morning feeling muzzy. You tried to stand on your feet. You didn’t mind the stench, although it hit you somewhat. You reached for the light switch, but there were none. Suddenly the floor caved in. You found yourself close to a wall, could hardly see anything. You looked at yourself only to discover the horrifying truth. This morning you really looked like a zombie ! Somehow you knew it would be a bad idea to touch the wall. It would only set you back so much. Your senses were of another world. You instinctively began to sniff, and felt the number of hazardous surrounding walls. Oh, what a nightmare. I gotta get out ! Play Chronicle of Sniffing Zombie. One player action/puzzle/maze game. 19 menacing levels. Immense sparkling colors, breathtaking sound effects and heartbreaking graphics. End of game surprise. matthew180
Pretty cool twist on minesweeper. I found myself trying to go too fast and could not even get past level 2! Matthew
The Codex
Finally got to play it. Good stuff! I like the deductive aspect of the puzzles, and the fiendishness of the later level designs.
sometimes99er
Thanks guys. Not so long ago Fly Guy and a quick code skim did indeed later inspire Sniff Zombie with "random" levels using H- and VCHAR. The 19 levels in Sniff are almost totally out of control, though I did test them all. Level 20 would be impossible. Right now I see that I should have used fixed seeds and maybe one more trick for each level. Hence having (better) control of increasing difficulty. Control was the plan for my Sudoku 2 having more than a hundred puzzles. A puzzle would be generated (in assembler) using one 16 bit seed. Beforehand a number of puzzles would be generated and pre-evaluated using C#. Family and friends would then solve and evaluate a number of puzzles, and I would make up like 10 levels with 16 puzzles in each level. The 160 seeds would be sorted and set in ROM (taking up 320 bytes). All in an 8K cart solution. The project is not forgotten.
Opry99er
How are you people doing this in 20-30 lines?!?!? I had no idea I'd be seeing what I'm seeing... I was thinking ASCII mazes or some kind of cheap platform jumpers.... I am completely amazed at what has been accomplished!!!!
sometimes99er
Game updated. If you hit a wall, youre not going back to the prior level. The number of levels have been lowered from 19 to 10. Levels are redesigned and progressively more difficult. +InsaneMultitasker
Ohh.. nice and addictive. Briefly showing the solution is a nice touch, though for me it made me more reckless and more ornery when I hit a wall Great job!
