SS #51 Posted December 14, 2002 Good luck getting your hands on DarXide, it was never released in the US and is going to be expensive if you find it. I am reasonably certain that DarXide will not play on a US system.
Gunstar #52 Posted December 17, 2002 Good luck getting your hands on DarXide, it was never released in the US and is going to be expensive if you find it. I am reasonably certain that DarXide will not play on a US system. Thanks for the heads-up on that, I was wondering if it would work or not. I'll just have to find out WHY it won't and fix it, or get a foreign 32X...or something, there's always a way around those reginal lock-outs, and PAL incompatibilities... Flojomojo #53 Posted December 17, 2002 Hmm, that's a surprise. Who would have thought such a silly add-on would have a region lock? I guess you'd have to import a euro 32X or just run it in emulation. From the FAQ: 3.0) The 32x in other Countrys: ------------------------------- The 32X was released in Japan in a low key launch, even despite the Genesis relative lack of popularity in that country. The 32X is also available in Europe (aka Mega 32X), Australia, and Canada in limited numbers. It was also released in Japan (called the Super 32X) with very few games due to lack of popularity of the Megadrive console. Any more info anyone ??? The lockout chips/compatability for the European, North American, and Asian machines remains incompatible with each other respectively. These machines will a combination of hardware 'lock-key' mechanisms to prevent uncontrolled importing. These may eventually be circumnavigated through the use of converters, as used in the past by some companies. Here are the 2 games European-only: ----------------------------------- * Darxide (Shooter) [from Rocket Science] * FIFA Soccer '96 (Sports) [from Electronics Arts]
RMila75 #54 Posted December 18, 2002 I got my 32X about 6 years ago just so I could play Afterburner and Space Harrier. I've always wished that Sega would have released OutRun on 32X, but oh well. Two questions for you: Has anyone noticed the glitch in Space Harrier that does not recognize that some enemies are being shot while you are running on the ground? How the heck do you have any degree of success at Zaxxon: Motherbase 2000? I always get finished off by the first boss!
SS #55 Posted December 18, 2002 Here are the 2 games European-only:----------------------------------- * Darxide (Shooter) [from Rocket Science] * FIFA Soccer '96 (Sports) [from Electronics Arts] DarXide has issues with a US system but FIFA does not. I own a 32X FIFA and, not only does it play great on my US 32X, it's a really nice version of the game to boot.
