Atari 400 replacement keyboards

Recommended Posts

Pictures to come, but if you are interested make an offer. I have NO idea what to ask for these but I got these for practically nothing so I am ready to deal. These are the membrane-y ones.

ATTENTION BigO: Will also swap one for a Model M keyboard. ;)

Are these the actual full-stroke keyboard replacement that was made for the 400, or just replacement membrane keyboard?

By membrane-ish, I mean, well, membrane. These are not (ahem) "full-stroke."

These only worth $5? Really?! OK, one sold for $5. Foster, send me a PM for shipping quote (from 94610).

Sorry to slightly hijack but right there is a prime example of why phaxda is such a good guy to deal with. These have got to be worth more than $5, you could have at least countered with $10 or more and most likely still made a sale. I have had a few deals with phaxda over the last year and he is one of the best. He actually cares about other collectors and helps out as much as he can. Believe me he could make a nice little profit on quite a few things he has sold but if it is to one of us he steps up.

Okay, sorry, lovefest over, buy his stuff.

Thanks, HFK! I appreciate the support--I didn't see a hijack anywhere in that post! I like to give people on AtariAge (especially n00bs) good deals--I get a lot out of this community and it only makes sense to give something back. Plus in this case I have FOUR of the keyboards and no 400 (I moved to an 800XL and never looked back) so I figured I would sell a couple on here and then see how a couple do on eBay. It sounds corny but I do believe in karma or something like it so if I have the means I am always looking to help people out. I have been the recipient of many a smoking deal myself: someone from here once sent me a boxed Vader and a bunch of games for the price of shipping, I just bought a Coleco and multicart to go with it for less than the multicart alone costs new, and I have made some awesome trades over the years. I won't say that I'm purely non-profit, but pretty much everything I make selling goes back into my collection. Or is spent on beer. This is the kind of attitude that drives my wife nuts!

I have tons of respect for the people on AA who do more technical things like make homebrews and all of that--tasks I will never have the knowledge to perform. But I am a pretty shrewd small-time buyer and seller, so I use that talent (such as it is) to help out my fellow Atarians when I can and further the hobby in a positive way. And also have a heckuva a lot of fun because that's what it's all about!

Finally, just have to say that the responsible way in which this site is managed flows down. It all really starts with Al, who has been more than generous with his time and knowledge of all things Atari over these many years. That type of attitude is a good one to emulate.

These are SOLD OUT. I have one left that is going to eBay so we can see just how well you AA deal-searchers made out!

I have a line on some more of these keyboards from the same guy (he used to do repairs) but he's upped his prices a bit. I am thinking it's not worth the drive, but if you are looking for one of these PM me and maybe we can work something out.

Picked up another one of these keyboards, now for sale for $10 plus actual shipping from ZIP 94610. Same guy gave me a call, cleaning out his basement again. I also now have a few 400/800/etc. EPROMs, boards, and unused cartridge shells that may well be of use to someone, but I am trying to decide on reasonable price for it all.

...and we're sold out again. I will keep this thread bookmarked in case this guy calls me again (unless Hoarders calls him first).
