FS: Defective Flashback 2 (not FB2+) In Box

Recommended Posts

I have an original Atari Flashback 2 (not a FB2+) that I was going to trade to another AtariAge member. Upon testing it, I found that it has a glitch: after about ten minutes of play, it fizzles out and returns to the main menu, or it just locks up and fills the screen with garbage. This happens if it is left at the menu during those ten minutes, or if it is playing a 2600 game. It then seems to glitch every minute or so until I leave it off for a while; after that, I can get another ten minutes in before it glitches again. I tested the power supply with another FB2 and it seemed to work fine, so even though I can't see anything obviously wrong with the board inside, I think the console has a defect.

Since I don't have any use for this console in its condition, I'm offering it for sale to anyone who can repair it or who might be able to use it for a cartridge port upgrade project. If you've wanted to add a cartridge connector to your FB2/FB2+ but are afraid of damaging it, you can use this console for practice. You can then cut a hole in the case for the cartridge slot while leaving your original FB2 case intact.

I'm offering this console for $7.50 plus shipping. It does not come with the joysticks (I traded those away some time ago), but it does include the original packaging and paperwork, and the AC adapter. The console itself is in excellent cosmetic condition. PM me if you're interested!
