Pyromaniac605 #1 Posted March 16, 2010 I had this idea and im sure we've all thought about this and im sure some of us have done it. Anyway my idea was when i move before i move in to paint all the walls in my game room black and then make stencils and use fluroescent paint to paint sprites from games all over the walls and maybe put a blacklight or two in. So i was wondering what you think and if anyone has done this please post a picture id love to see how it looks. -Darren-

VectorGamer #3 Posted March 16, 2010 I would say get a sample first and see how you like the black on the wall first.
Rik #4 Posted March 16, 2010 (edited) Painting walls black is a very cool idea, adding black & white, black & red checkered floor tiles looks cool also. That's what i have in mind for a game room in the future for myself. The glow in the dark paint and the black lights is a must IMO.I like a hard core aggressive arcade look for gamerooms. That i would use for an Arcade room.Either that or a "retail" store design for displaying my collection, with carousel hangers for displaying gaming related clothing, display cases/cabinets,kiosks,etc,would be cool.Someone i know has an Arcade room exactly like the one described above, sorry,no pics though. STICH666 #5 Posted March 17, 2010 Also just realised im a Moonsweeper now and its only been a few months. -Darren- Don't worry. I hit moonsweeper after about a month. Anyway great idea. I need to actually lighten my room up. It's got all the 70's wood paneling and faux rock walls to be expected from a 40 year 0ld house

They sound perfect. As for a specific game/arcade room, I'm all for the black paint and fluorescent accents. You definitely need to get some neon lights as well. Video #8 Posted March 17, 2010 Sprites would indeed be cool (and appropriate for a game room) but uh....black? I don't know, if you paint a whole room black, that's an awefull lot of black Though, if you have a bunch of lights and TV/arcades set up, then it would make for an authentic Arcade/casino feel IMO. But it is a bit hard to get rid of if you change your mind later. Black lights would be cool though, maybe you could paint a Tempest on a wall in all UV reflective paint and use a blacklight, that I think would look cool, and a huge pattern covering most of the wall like that may be OK
VectorGamer #9 Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) Here's how I did mine using two different shades of dark blue and red for an accent wall. Inspired by Space Invaders cabinet: http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach§ion=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=153712 The black light on the florescent paint pic frames adds a nice effect Edited March 17, 2010 by rmaerz
SRGilbert #10 Posted March 18, 2010 Black walls with green vector art could be cool. Think Asteroids, Vectrex, Battlezone, ect.
