Non-working 2600 consoles/interest check/offers

Recommended Posts

Well, I just recently took a new full-time job and so my Atari selling career is being put on hold/pared down as a result. As I have often mentioned, I have a sore spot for large Atari lots on eBay--have had good luck for the most part, but of course some of the systems I get are non-functioning. I often fix them on up and sell them, but at the moment the number of consoles I have that are unfit for general resale is at an obscene level and I need to dump them. I have already asked locals if they wanted them and no one does so now shipping them all is really the big problem. So I am thinking about putting them on eBay and GameGavel individually for like $20 shipped in one of those longish/flat medium flat rate boxes. That way after fees and all I make like $7 a console (assuming they sell) which is better than nothing. But before I go through that trouble I offer the same deal here OR a bulk deal to someone who wants to fix them. The box I currently have 6 consoles in weighs a little less than 16 pounds. I have 8 consoles total--they are all mostly complete--a couple of them are missing screws or the RF cord and I would be happy to discuss particulars with any potential buyers. In general, I would guess most of them can be repaired to full working condition.

Let me know if you are interested or have good ideas as to selling this type of item. I am a little skittish about it because I usually sell working items and selling something that does not work is always dicey.

Couple of quick questions: How much for all 8? Did you do any troubleshooting on them? Mixed models, or all the same? I could use them for spare parts probably, or maybe make a few whole systems out of the group of them. But I only really need a few switches, so my interest is there for the right price.

Hey,

They are mixed models. 2 vader, 3 4-switch woody, 3 6-switch woody, and just in, 2 sears sixers. I also have one empty shell.

3 have switch problems that my usual cleaning technique did not fix. A couple just do not power on at all. Two have sound issues. One has "scrambled" video. I am a very motivated seller right now--shipping is definitely a killer, but I am only looking in the $5-10 per system plus shipping if I can dump them all at once. I will strip parts that people need if asked to do so--I hate to kill machines, but just do not have the time for it and kind of bunt out/mad right now.

That should read "burnt out/mad" which is still the case. I am looking for $5 apiece plus shipping. You will never want for parts again. I have a nice big box ready for them; PM for further details.

Well, another weekend and another messy gaming room. I accidentally blocked off the circuit breakers with some game shelves and my landlord needed to do some electrical work but had to wait while I cleared space, so now I have a mad wife and a mad landlord on my hands!

Please PM if you have any interest in these systems at all. This beauty, which had the switches busted off in shipping, is also available.

I'm going to leave feedback in the proper place too but I wanted to add in this thread that phaxda is easily in the top 5 people to buy from or deal with in AtariAge. Fast shipping, great communication, wonderful prices, and he has a genuine interest in just sharing with the community rather than making a buck off people. I would never hesitate in the slightest to purchase anything from him.
